Original Game Ace/Manga Ace/Anime Deuce : Let’s see what they have to say.
EN Game Ace: Let’s see what the people there have to say.
EN Manga Ace: There’s a cottage back there. Let’s see if we can ask for information.
EN Anime Sub Deuce: Should we try asking the people in there?
EN Anime Dub Deuce: Do you think anybody’s home?

Original Game/Manga/Anime Deuce: When the mine was flourishing, this house must have been a lively place.
EN Game Deuce: When the mine was flourishing, this house must have been a lively place.
EN Manga Deuce: This must have been quite a lively place back when the mine was thriving.
EN Anime Sub Deuce: This house was probably full of life when the mine was still in operation.
EN Anime Dub Deuce: Well, probably a mining operation. But who knows how long ago it got shut down.
Original Manga/Anime Deuce: But it’s closed, right? I think it’s gonna be pitch-black inside.
EN Manga Deuce: But I heard that the mine is closed. It’s going to be pitch-black inside.
EN Anime Sub Deuce: But wasn’t it closed down? It’ll be pitch black in there.
EN Anime Dub Deuce: I was hoping for tools or something. At least some kind of light source.
Original Manga/Anime Grim: And it’s n-n-n-not like it was so dark that I was too scared to go inside, okay! Th-th-th-that’s not what happened, okay!
EN Manga Grim: And it’s n-n-n-not like it was so dark that I was too scared to go inside, okay! Th-th-th-that’s not what happened, okay!
EN Anime Sub Grim: It wasn’t like I was too scared to go in there.
EN Anime Dub Grim: Hey, it’s not like I’m too scared to go in there alone or anything!
Original Anime Grim: I just figured you guys would probably get all scared.
EN Anime Sub Grim: I thought you guys would be shaking in your boots.
EN Anime Dub Grim: So I just figured l’d come down here out of the kindness of my heart to help protect you all, all right? ‘Cause you obviously need it!
Original Anime Deuce: You all! Do you even understand the situation we’re in right now?
EN Anime Sub Deuce: You guys! Did you forget why we’re here?
EN Anime Dub Deuce: Am I the only one in this stupid mine who remembers what we’re doing here?
(In response to Deuce talking about getting expelled.)
Original Anime Ace: Don’t boss me around about every little thing, it’s really annoying.
EN Anime Sub Ace: That’s why you need to stop ordering us around. It’s pissing me off.
EN Anime Dub Ace: And if you keep bossin’ me around, I’ll let ’em do it!
Original Anime Deuce: Before complaining to others, why don’t you go look for it yourself!
EN Anime Sub Deuce: Why don’t you go find that magestone instead of whining?
EN Anime Dub Deuce: How about you get back to the task at hand instead of acting like a baby?
Original Manga/Anime Ace: I’m telling you to wait! What are you planning to go off and do?
EN Manga Ace: No, wait! Go where?! To do what?!
EN Anime Sub Ace: Hold it. You’re not going after that monster, are you?
EN Anime Dub Ace: Hold it. You’re not gonna fight that thing!
Original Manga/Anime Deuce: That monster is definitely guarding a magestone. Gonna take it down!
EN Manga Deuce: I am positive that that fiend is guarding a magestone! I’m going to vanquish him!
EN Anime Sub Deuce: That monster is definitely protecting a magestone. I’m gonna defeat it.
EN Anime Dub Deuce: Of course I am! That monster is obviously protecting a magestone. So, we’re going in.
Original Manga/Anime Deuce: There’s no way I can give up that easily!
EN Manga Deuce: You want to give up and go home?!
EN Anime Sub Deuce: As if I’d give up that easily!
EN Anime Dub Deuce: I’m sick and tired of hearing you run your mouth!
(Sounding a little like Deuce’s problem is with Ace, when it’s actually with giving up.)
Original Manga/Anime Deuce: Hey, monster! This is a one-on-one fight with me!
EN Manga Deuce: Hey, freak face! Let’s go! One-on-one!
EN Anime Sub Deuce: Hey, monster! Come and fight me.
EN Anime Dub Deuce: Hey, freak face! Yeah. Got your attention.
(Removing Deuce’s line about a one-on-one fight upholds the change to the EN-dub anime where Deuce originally says he is going to fight the monster alone, changed to, “we’re going in,” plural, for the English-speaking audience.)

For those who may be curious about Deuce’s “How will I face Mommy?” line in the EN dub, he refers to his mother as 母さん (kaa-san), the same word he uses in the original game.
It was localized in the EN game as both “mom” and “mother.” “Mommy” is unique to the English-language dub of the anime. In the EN-sub he says, “How can I face mom?”
Original Anime Yuuken: Trust Ace.
EN Anime Sub Yuuken: Trust Ace.
EN Anime Dub Yuuken: Just give him another minute.
Original Anime Deuce: You’re not so bad yourself.
EN Anime Sub Deuce: You’re not so bad yourself.
EN Anime Dub Deuce: You’re not so bad yourself, hurricane.
(Canonically Deuce does not refer to Ace as “Hurricane.”)
Original Maga/Anime Yuuken: It’s because we all worked together.
EN Manga Yuuken: No, it’s because we all worked together.
EN Anime Sub Yuuken: It’s thanks to you all working together.
EN Anime Dub Yuuken: Give yourselves a little credit for swallowing your pride.
Original Anime Riddle: Trey, Cater. Take those two away.
Original Manga Riddle: Trey, Cater. Take those two to the dorm.
EN Manga Riddle: Trey. Cater. Take them to the dorm.
EN Anime Sub Riddle: Trey, Cater. Apprehend them.
EN Anime Dub Riddle: My soldiers, take them into custody at once.
(Is the EN-anime trying to avoid the use of people’s names? This also happened in episode 2.)
Original Anime Grim: What a delicious smell.
EN Anime Sub Grim: Ah! Such a scrumptious scent.
EN Anime Dub Grim: Oh, yeah. That’s exactly what I was lookin’ for.
(As of this line Grim has not actually found the stone.)
Original Manga/Anime Crowley: Yuu-kun
EN Anime Sub Crowley: Mr. Enma
EN Anime Dub Crowley: Mr. Enma
(In the original manga/anime, Crowley never refers to any of the prefects as anything but “Yuu-kun.”)
Original Anime Yuuken: “Prefect”?
EN Anime Sub Yuuken: Prefect?
EN Anime Dub Yuuken: Like a chaperone?
Original Anime Yuuken: You did it, Grim. Let’s become great mages!
EN Manga Yuuken: You did it, Grim! Now you can be a great mage!
EN Anime Sub Yuuken: Congratulations, Grim. You’re on your way to being a great magician.
EN Anime Dub Yuuken: You’re realizing your dream. Congrats. You’re one step closer.
(This is a reference to Koito that all English-language adaptations are missing: back in the opening when Kaito is bemoaning being the weakest member of the kendo team Yuuken does not say “You will be a great athlete” or “We’ll get you there,” like he does in the English adaptations, he says, “Let’s become great athletes,” as though Koito is on equal footing with the rest of the team and they all need to work to improve. In the same way he is including himself in the “great mages” line here in his encouragement of Grim, as if they are in this situation together rather than just Grim getting closer to his dream alone.)
Original Anime Floyd: Thanks~
EN Anime Sub Floyd: Ah, thanks.
EN Anime Dub Floyd: Thanks, birdman.
(Floyd is extremely strict with his nicknames, canonically never referring to Rook (or anyone else) by anything but the sea-creature-based name he has assigned to them, with the exception of Jade and Azul.)
Original Anime Floyd: Hey there~
EN Anime Sub Floyd: Hello.
EN Anime Dub Floyd: Hey, buddy!
(Canonically Floyd has never referred to anyone as a friend. More here ▶︎)
