Azul says that he prefers having “a well-defined figure.”
He might not be fond of his outfit for the first birthday series, saying, “Land-dwellers have such odd–ah, odd-LY beautiful attire,” and that he did his best to study “land-dwellers’ fashion.”
He purchases a pair of patent leather shoes with buckle straps in the Fairest City, saying that he had been looking for something to wear for formal occasions.
Ace says that Azul seems like he goes for “more dressy vibes” than himself and Azul responds, “Generally. Though I of course take time, place, and occasion into account.”
Ace asks Azul to pick out an outfit for him in the Fairest City and Azul suggests a black blazer with a “nice and slim” silhouette, a white collared shirt, a striped necktie, center-creased slacks and leather shoes.
Ace describes the look as “formal and grown up” and just what he expected from Azul.
Azul likes his Glorious Masquerade costume, describing it as “both elegant and well made.”
Azul says that he owns only one pair of glasses.
When Trey asks if mermaids usually wear glasses at all Azul says that it is not very common under the sea, and he made the conscious decision to do so after coming on land both for vision correction and for branding, as he’d read that wearing glasses makes one appear intellectual.
Azul says that the outfit he chooses for himself during Vargas camp is something that fits his style: “The colors are nice enough, and I’m a big fan of the octopus logo on the front.”
On the subject of Azul’s hats, Floyd says that he once hydro dipped one because “his hats are so boring,” and Azul became upset with him for ruining the “chic design.”
Azul says, “The styling of one’s hair is a key element of a first impression. I always try to keep mine looking refined.”
