Summary:
・Leona’s personal fashion might be frowned upon back home
・Prefers loose-fitting clothes
・Seems uninterested in brand names, prioritizing what suits him
・Dislikes the hood of the ceremonial robes for pressing down on his ears
It is possible that Leona’s style does not meet the approval of others back home: he tells Malleus that one of the things he likes about NRC is, “as long as I’m here, I can wear what I want,” and he has a Fairy Gala line about how there are “plenty of people back home who were all too happy to nitpick (his) fashion choices.”
He does not seem to like his Fairy Gala outfit, saying that it makes his shoulders stiff, the accessories weigh him down (“Can I go back to normal clothes yet?”), and they constrict his tail.
But he does not seem to think that Crewel has poor fashion sense, saying, “it’s just not my thing.”
Leona says he hates clothes that feel restrictive (“Who cares if I wear things loose?”). When asked why he does not wear his necktie with his school uniform Leona responds, “As if l’d suffocate myself wearing that.”
Leona refers to the suit of the first birthday series as a “real silly outfit,” and while he says that the design of the second birthday series’ outfit isn’t bad, he does not like the tightness of the collar.
There is a note in the Visual Book 1 artbook for Leona’s ceremonial robes card that says, “He is in a bad mood because the hood presses down on his ears,” and he complains in-game about the hood on his ears as well.
Leona says he doesn’t know how much his Vargas Camp outfit costs because he buys what he likes, saying, “All that matters is it looks decent on me,” so he might not be particularly interested in brand names or designers?
This phrasing sounds like maybe Leona picked out his Vargas camp look for himself, but Ruggie says that he is the one who went shopping for Leona’s outfit.
Perhaps Ruggie received Leona’s approval before purchasing his clothes, or they went shopping for their outdoorwear outfits together?
Leona says that the only part of the Cloudcalling event that he doesn’t hate is the clothes.
He is not fond of his Playfulland costume and maybe the “meticulously detailed lion motif” in particular.
Leona says that the texture of his loungewear outfit is unlike anything else as the clothes were made from a plant that can only be found in Sunset Savanna, and he isn’t particular about his accessories as long as they don’t make his shoulders stiff.
