Malleus’ Fashion

Malleus is asked directly what kind of colors he usually prefers for his clothes and says black: “It’s the hue most associated with nobility in the Draconia family. Because of my status as royalty, most of my attire growing up has been primarily black.”

On the subject of his Nightmare Suit Malleus says, “I often wear outfits primarily black in color, but I can’t say I’m accustomed to patchwork attire.”

He says that the white blazer of his first birthday vignette is “surprisingly nice.” 

Malleus says he likes his Eternity Float attire: “The balance of white and black is just right. Black is considered the most noble of colors in Briar Valley. But white is evocative of a sandy beach. And using both is like a commingling of different cultures. This isn’t bad at all.” 

He also says that he is “not much for human formal wear” or the color of his Platinum Jacket outfit.

Malleus describes his New Year’s outfit: “It’s fascinating how the designer chose to leave space between the robe and sleeves in order to showcase the color of the inner garments. And these accessories are all so curious—I’ve never seen their like.” 

He says, “I’m used to cumbersome attire, but these Eastern robes are another matter altogether.”

When Kalim says that brighter colors should be worn at celebrations, Malleus disagrees: “Black is a noble color, and one perfectly suited to revelry…I do not believe that flashy colors are the only way to express one’s jubilation.”

Malleus receives cufflinks from his grandmother for his birthday. He receives clothes from Rook, but they are never described (“However did he learn my measurements?”)

Malleus says that his Glorious Masquerade outfit is “a comfort to wear” and is to his tastes, mentioning the gold rose embroidery on black fabric specifically. 

Malleus says that he would summon a personal hair dresser to the castle in Briar Valley, but he grew tired of how much of a production it was: “Sometimes I’d ask Lilia to cut my hair while he was doing Silver’s…”
