EN Server Changes: Lilia Vanrouge

Original Lilia: What an admirable…I am immensely moved!
EN Lilia: What a model son you are. I’m positively verklempt!

As of Book 7, Chapter 100, Lilia has never called Silver his son in the original game.

In Book 7-1, Malleus tells a story about a time that Lilia was called to the castle by royal guardsman when he was a child, in order to deal with a problem that he had caused.

In the English-language adaptation, however, this was rewritten to say that Lilia himself was a royal guardsman at the time.

Original Malleus: Lilia came to the castle, having been summoned by the royal guardsmen.
EN Malleus: That was when Lilia, a royal guardsman at the time, came to the castle.

This translation is incorrect: Lilia quit his role as royal guardsman after the death of Malleus’ mother, before Malleus was born.

Original Lilia: No matter what I wear, it suits me. I am so devilishly charming.

EN Lilia: I have a way of forcing things to suit me.

Original Lilia: They’re boiled eggs prepared with the heat of the steam and water of hot springs. They’re a specialty of mine!

EN Lilia: Crispy fried dough, dusted with sugar and cinnamon. One of my favorites!

Original Lilia: How boring. I thought I could give Leona a ride on my shoulders.

EN Lilia: What a drag. I thought you could give me a ride on your shoulders, Leona.

Original Lilia: I thought you had become most admirable, but you are all still only children.
EN Lilia: Here I thought you no longer needed me now that you were all grown up, but I see I was mistaken.

Original Lilia: There, there, cry as much as you like…….after all, all children cry.
EN Lilia: There, there, let it all out. It’s okay to cry.

(In the original game this is a callback to the beginning of Book 7: Malleus tells Silver “All children cry” (retained on EN), and Lilia using the same phrasing back to Malleus at the end of the story, removed from EN.)
