Grim seems very self confident.
When Deuce scolds him for firing off magic during Glorious Masquerade Grim responds, “You’re just jealous ‘cause everyone’s impressed with ME.”
Grim also says, “There ain’t no one more dependable than me” during Phantom Bride, “My compelling acting has struck fear into their hearts” during Vargas Camp, “You woulda won if I’d been racing” during Harveston and more.
When a vendor compliments him on being sophisticated during Firelit Sky, Grim agrees.
He independently decides that Kalim’s pushiness and Silver’s kindness must be because they are trying to convince him to transfer to their dorms.
Saying that he is “a genius,” Grim attempts what Ortho describes as “a bubble colossus spell” and fails, though he claims that he, like Ortho, had just gone running to defeat it and wasn’t actually the person who made it at all.
Grim is fond of the outfits he receives during the events, telling the prefect that his Glorious Masquerade ensemble is “way more stylin’ than yours,” and better than a necklace the students find.
He is proud of his Halloween costume and the ribbon he receives during Harveston.
This self confidence is possibly why Grim never seems to hesitate before approaching others, going to Sebek in Harveston, Jack in the main story (Ace: “You might want to reconsider your approach”) and Jamil in Book 2 (Riddle: Tact is important for these sorts of things”).
Grim also yells for Leona in Book 5, surprising Ace and Deuce. Deuce responds, “Sometimes, Grim leaves me awestruck.”
Grim’s self-confidence may also be connected to his delight in dancing in public, which he does during Halloween, Playfulland, Glorious Masquerade and Harveston.
