—On the subject of Jamil’s character song:
It was difficult. The low parts are so low and the high parts are so high. When I first received the music I thought, ‘This is going to be so hard!’
The differences in tone are so extreme. And it’s a ballad. Every time I sing as Jamil it is emphasized to me how important the lyrics are, and ballads are even more so, and so I have to be even more careful. There is so much meaning in each every line, and I did so many takes searching for the best way to portray them. But there is a part where ‘ah, ah, ah, ah’ is sung repeatedly, and I got that on my first take. Singing that part felt really good.
There was a lot of technical skill and emotion put into this song, so I hope people listen closely and notice all the different elements in it.

I was always conscious of the emotional temperature and sense of distance involved in expressing Jamil as Jamil. Something that left an impression on me was adjusting the finer nuances again and again so that, without showing too much emotion, people could still properly feel what is inside of him.
I recorded with importance placed on the heat that exists within the quiet.>> What should fans pay attention to in the songs you participated in?
I think the appeal of Jamil’s songs lies in the way that feelings and inner conflicts that he can’t fully bring out into the open seep through them. The sound is also somewhat mysterious, and I think fans will make new discoveries the more they listen. I’d be happy if they could also pay special attention to the lyrics and feel what’s going on inside him.
>> Which song would you like to sing at karaoke?
We just can’t leave out the dorm song “Far-Out.” The atmosphere as a whole, including the back-and-forth exchanges, is so enjoyable, so I think it would really liven up the room at karaoke.
Also, Jamil’s songs are on the more difficult side and make for really good practice, so you could even aim to improve your skills by singing them over and over. (laughs)>> A message for the fans, please.
