Kalim says that “the Sorcerer of the Sands specialized in divination,” and Jamil knows “how to tell a basic fortune” through coffee divination, which he tries to perform for Grim but is unable to, as Grim drinks his coffee grounds.
When asked what dorm he would be willing to transfer to Jamil says Ignihyde, based on a tale about the Sorcerer of the Sands’ magical fortune-telling artifact. Jamil says, “I was always curious about it as a kid—how did it work, and what did he use to make it?”
