Kalim says that his magic manifested when he was about 14 years old (it is not clear if this is true only of his dream or also of reality) and levitating a parrot feather was the first magic he ever achieved.
Levitation might be the magic we see Kalim use the most: he recommends levitation magic as the solution to their problem during Fairy Gala, and it is possible that he used levitation to eject Magicam Monsters during Halloween.

He uses magic to dice meat and cook in a vignette that might have also included levitation.

When asked if he can use magic to change his clothes Kalim explains, “I can handle my school and dorm uniforms. Though I sometimes get them backwards when I’m in a hurry.”

It is possible that Kalim uses unspecified attack magic during Book 7 and the fight against Malleus and the darkness that he summons.
While Kalim does not specify what kind of magic he uses in a vignette to try and dry his magic carpet, it was possibly wind magic: the carpet seems worried and he assures it, “It’ll be fine! I’ve gotten a little better at it recently.”
In what is possibly an example of Kalim struggling to control his magic he says, “The wrapping paper is flying my way! …Huh? I was trying to stop the wrapping paper, but the whole breeze stopped. I botched it again today…I’ll do the rest with a hair dryer.”

Along with Riddle, Jack and Deuce, Kalim channels magic into a hair-growth potion during the Lantern event.
