In two different instances Deuce, Ace and Trey all express surprise at how bold Grim is to casually call out to Leona. Grim is quick to blame Leona for Azul’s overblot, and during the Cloudcalling event calls Leona “the most useless one” of the group.
The two also bicker during Book 7 when Grim seems to attach himself onto Leona during a dream crossing, though Grim claims he was only trying to keep Leona’s necklace and hair from hitting him in the face.
For all his nonchalance towards Leona, however, Grim will also get intimidated by him and back down, as we see in Book 3 and Vargas Camp.
During Port Fest Grim tries to escape after being caught eating a booth’s wares and runs towards Leona on accident.
Yelling, “Leona alert!” he changes course for Ace, without Leona needing to say anything.
