Idia and Leona bicker constantly throughout Book 7: Leona initially refuses to join the dream-infiltration team of Book 7 but Idia rejects his refusal, whispering to himself, “I’m genuinely curious what kind of upbringing it would take for someone to grow up that arrogant.”
When Leona tells Idia to “do something” about their inter-dream transportation method while he works from the comfort of his dorm room Idia is displeased (“Who’s the busiest guy here? ME! ME, AND NO ONE ELSE! Got it?”), telling Leona to spare them “the spoiled second prince act during a genuine emergency.”
Leona responds, “You sure know how to cop an attitude when you’re safe and sound behind a monitor. Think you can back that up the next time we meet in person?,” and Ortho intervenes.
Idia seems to be aware of the extent of Leona’s power: when shown Savanaclaw’s impressive Halloween display his first question is, “Did Leona use his magic for it?”
Learning that Savanaclaw made the set from scratch Idia murmurs, “I wouldn’t touch that dorm with a ten-foot pole,” and Leona is not amused. (Leona: “You got a problem, radish sprouts? Go on, say it to my face. I’m waiting.” – Idia: “N-n-nope. We’re cool! No problem here!”)
Leona also seems aware of Idia’s power, saying during Spectral Soiree that while Idia “might be a blubbering coward” he is “not some weakling,” and “These ghosts are no match for your magic and smarts.”
Idia and Leona find common ground in Book 7 on the subject of being housewardens, with Leona saying, “It’s way more satisfying subduing others and ruling at the top of the heap than it is to follow someone else’s lead. Isn’t that right, Housewarden Idia?,” and Idia agrees: “The last thing I want is to live under the authority of someone less competent than me. Heehee!”
In a vignette Idia trips over Leona in the woods while testing his Halloween costume, getting parts of it tangled with Leona’s tail. Leona asks Idia for scissors, leading Idia to assume that Leona intends to cut off a part of his own fur to free him.
Instead, Leona cuts off the faux-ivy that Idia made for the costume.
Idia vows to show Leona the greatness of Pumpkin Knight by making the best costume.
Leona gives Idia an artisan-made, hand-carved chess set for his birthday, but when Idia asked if it fit the gift budget from the school Leona responds, “Beats me. It’s been sitting around since my family sent it to me.”
Idia says the pieces are “so finely crafted that they’d be hard to hold. They’re great to admire, though,” and Leona responds, “Chess is all a mental game. It doesn’t matter what the pieces are.”
Ultimately the two end up playing at least one round of chess together but we are never told who, if either of them, won the match.
When asked who he would take with him to a deserted island Idia vetoes both Rook and Lilia and Leona agrees that “they’re both a pain in the tail.”
When asked where he would transfer dorms to Idia says he might barely get by in Diasomnia’s gloomy atmosphere, but when Leona asks if he’d become another adherent of Malleus Draconia Idia says, “I don’t need to deal with peer pressure just ‘cuz someone’s famous and powerful.”
Leona responds, “Right there with you on that. It’s a pain when the majority forces their opinion on you.”
When Leona says that Malleus has “gotta be the worst housewarden at this school,” Idia agrees.
In Book 6 Vil guesses that Idia is a part of the family that runs the Jupiter Conglomerate, which Azul did not know but Leona apparently did, with Ruggie saying that Leona told him so.
During their entrapment at STYX Leona mentions at least twice, “Idia’s got a gift for rubbing people the wrong way.”
Much like every other character on the cast, Leona refuses to go to Idia’s aid during the Phantom Bride event.
When Idia begs them to get him out of the situation Leona compliments him on finding his soul mate, and when Idia says their hearts are made of stone Vil reveals that they know of how Idia tried to sacrifice them to Eliza in his place.
Leona describes Idia’s attempts to sacrifice the people trying to rescue him as “beyond sad.”
Both Leona and Idia are displeased about being assigned to work together during NBC.
Idia will sometimes reveal how little it is he knows about Leona, saying that “he isn’t suited to a leadership role, personality-wise,” when the game has given several examples of otherwise (more here ▶︎ and here ▶︎).
Another example came in Book 7 when Leona says he barely pays attention to other dorms and Idia agrees, saying that he never took Leona “for a guy with his finger on the pulse of the community.”
In Book 6, however, Leona provides detailed evaluations of Azul and Riddle’s strengths and weaknesses to Jamil, as well as an evaluation of Jamil himself, which seems to resonate. Leona’s claim that he barely pays attention to other dorms was possibly another example of Leona downplaying himself (more here ▶︎ and here ▶︎).
After Riddle is summoned to Idia’s room in Book 7 in the lead-up to the final fight against Malleus, he tells Idia he already knows that the dream he had been in was created by Malleus, as he was informed in advance by Leona.
Idia responds, “Props to Leona! Way to save a ton of trouble. Of course a guy who loves ditching work but still acts capable would be a pro at that!,” but Riddle describes Idia as someone capable of “incredible feats” who is “devoid of motivation most of the time,” a very similar complaint to what people tend to say about Leona (more here ▶︎), so the two housewardens may have that in common with one another.
