Nougat’s Voice Actor Fukuyama Jun

In a 2019 interview Fukuyama talks about his motivation to pursue voice acting:

“When I was in my first year of high school, I liked someone whose dream was to become a voice actor. As an excuse to get closer to them, I said I wanted to become a voice actor too. We enrolled at a voice actor training school together and started dating, but I ended up becoming more interested in voice acting than they were and I moved to Tokyo as soon as I graduated from high school. We eventually broke up.” (source)

Fukuyama won “Best Actor in a Leading Role” in the first-ever Seiyuu Awards ceremony in 2007 (source), and in 2009 he won the 3rd Seiyuu Awards’ “Overseas Fans Award” (source) the same year that the “Best New Male Voice Actor Award” was won by Okamoto Nobuhiko (Floyd), the “Best Supporting Actor” award was won by both Inoue Kazuhiko (Ambrose 63rd) and Sugita Tomokazu (Fellow), and the “Best Lead Actor in a Leading Role Award” and “Personality Award” were both won by Kamiya Hiroshi (Rollo).

He also won the “Voice Actor Award” at the 2009 Tokyo Anime Award Show (source).

In 2018 Fukuyama established talent management, casting, production and voice actor training company BLACK SHIP with voice actor Tachibana Shinnousuke (source).

In 2024 he joined NOMORE Unauthorized Generative AI, a volunteer group formed by prominent voice actors to oppose AI-generated content created/trained from a person’s voice or likeness without their consent (source), also joined by Fukami Rica (Meleanor), Takeuchi Ryouta (Vargas) and Miyamoto Mitsuru (Crowley).
