Unlike Idia, Ortho’s hair is not a manifestation of a curse. He says “It’s just artificially generated” but still made of fire like Idia’s and he “can turn it any color by altering the gas mix.”
For Fairy Gala IF Ortho makes his own mechanical body based on Crewel’s designs in what is possibly for his first time occupying a body that was not designed for him by Idia.
When asked about how much he interacts with other Ignihyde students, Ortho responds that they play phone games a lot. He doesn’t play computer games as a general rule, since it doesn’t really require any effort for him to win.
He says he enjoys competing against his dormmates, who keep coming up with new strategies no matter how many times they lose.
There is apparently an “anti-Otho” game strategy guide where students use handwritten notes to hide information from him, as even the tightest data security won’t stop him.
Ortho mentions ordering a game to play with his roommates during a “dedicated gaming day,” and it seems he collects games in physical form rather than only digital.
Ortho seems passionate about games, saying that the idea of adapting his and Trey’s skills to the skills of their customers during New Year’s would be “an insult to the game” and he would never do it, despite how the store’s success (and their own bonuses) are depending upon the customers’ willingness to play against them.
Ultimately Trey offers the idea of helping customers improve their skills so that they are not beaten so handily in every match, of which Ortho approves, saying, “A full-throttle battle, where anyone can win. I like it! All games should be like that!”
When Ortho uncharacteristically misses a shot during billiards Vil says he better not have done so on purpose and Ortho responds, “I would never pull my punches in a game!”
