Twisted Wonderland Event Summary: Port Fest

Jack wants to treat Ruggie to a special dish in Crane Port, but when they arrive the restaurant is closed. The manager reveals that he is too busy preparing for an annual festival to run his shop: Port Fest.

Ruggie sends Jack and the rest of the group away (they met with Floyd and Rook by coincidence) to speak with the manager alone, and it is later revealed that he gave the manager the idea for the students of Night Raven College to help with festival preparations.

The students are also to run food stalls, with Jack, Ruggie, Rook and Floyd in a “steering committee” for the festival, to be led by Jack.

Crowley has Crewel design special Port Wear outfits for the four students and reveals that they are to put on a musical performance during the festival. The students are provided with various brass instruments, but Floyd is the only one with any experience.

Jack decides that they are to practice until they area capable of performing because “that’s how everything works. Practice hard, and someday you’ll be able to do it,” but Ruggie suggests that they quit and have actual musicians perform, instead.

Jack and Ruggie get into an argument with Jack insisting they just need to apply themselves and Ruggie announces he will not longer be attending practices until Jack proves that they will be able to succeed through the power of hard work.

Rook recommends that Jack go to someone that he deeply respects and admires for advice and Jack goes to Leona, who recommends that he properly identify his prey.

While cleaning the stage for their performance various mops and buckets fall on top of Jack, giving him an idea.

During the festival the students prepare and sell customizable waffles, churros, cotton candy, clam chowder and salads.

Jack, Ruggie, Rook and Floyd’s performance is revealed to incorporate mops, buckets, ladles, trash cans and other kitchenware in place of brass instruments. Vil explains that it is a form of street dancing.

The show is a success, with Jack earning Leona’s approval.

At the end of the show the group returns the pots and pans that they borrowed from the manager of the restaurant but everything has been so damaged in the performance that the manager says they will need to buy all new replacements.

To compensate the group stays late after the festival, peeling potatoes.

The manager prepares the special dish that Jack had wanted to buy for Ruggie in the beginning: doughnuts, Ruggie’s favorite food.
