Both Leona and Jamil have 古代呪文語 listed as their best subject in their profiles on JP which EN wrote as “ancient magic,” but that is not really what it is.
EN then changed this translation in Leona’s second birthday vignette, where he receives a specialist book on 古代呪文語 from Malleus.
In the vignette it was translated as “ancient incantations,” which is more accurate.
This happened again with Ace and Sebek’s best subject of 魔法解析学.
It is written as “enigmics” in their profiles but as “magic analysis” in the main story, with “magic analysis” being the more literal translation.
If you were wondering if “enigmics” and “magic analysis” were different classes at NRC, or “ancient magic” and “ancient incantations,” the answer is no: they are the same class.
Azul’s favorite food is listed as “fried chicken” on EN, but this is inaccurate: his actual favorite food is “kara-age,” which is different.
Trein’s disliked food, for example, actually is fried chicken.
Karaage is a street food generally marinated in things like soy sauce, garlic, ginger, etc. and covered in potato starch and double fried, found sometimes in bento.
Fried chicken is different, fried in flour and more often found at western-style restaurants and convenient stores.
Deuce’s least favorite food is listed as “bell pepper” on EN, but that is not true.
Deuce’s actual least favorite food is piman, which is thin and bitter and often disliked by children, and Deuce is the youngest student on the main cast (not counting Ortho).
Bell peppers are thicker and sweeter and more often used in salads and western-style cooking.
This caused some misunderstandings on EN when Ace’s Master Chef arrived and many EN players thought that Ace was cooking with Deuce’s least favorite food, but he wasn’t: they are different.
Another food change on EN was Idia’s favorite food of dagashi becoming “sweets.”
While dagashi can be sweet they can also be savory, like crackers, which you would maybe not assume from EN’s translation.

Another “close but not quite” food translation on EN was Malleus’ favorite of “frozen treats,” changed to the more specific “ice cream” for the English-speaking audience.
“Frozen treats” was translated accurately for EN during the New Year’s event.

The changes made to profiles for the EN server are great examples of how nuance is often removed from translations during the localization process.
