Riddle, Violence

During the NBC event Jade observes that “Riddle, for all his extolling of strict etiquette and rules, is capable of absurdly drastic measures when he grows agitated,” saying that he often finds himself stunned at his behavior and will remark to himself, “Something is very wrong with that individual.”

Riddle himself says, “When someone gets violent with me, my response will always be the same…I’ll hit them right back!,” and he votes against showing Malleus or Lilia any mercy during Spectral Soiree: “I behead ALL rulebreakers, without exception!”

Later, when Lilia asks if they attacked the ghosts unprovoked, Riddle says, “I thought attacking them was the only way to get everyone back to normal…” (Lilia: “I thought you youngins were tech savvy enough to know you can’t just smack stuff to fix it!”)

Riddle declares that they will “crush” Rollo themselves during the Glorious Masquerade event, and his violence becomes a turning point during the Ghost Marriage event: despite reflecting that “If we were to try brute force and get beaten back, the mission would be a failure,” after the ghost rejects him for being too short Riddle uses both his collar and fire magic in relation.

Riddle apologies, saying that he had felt pressured by the time limit, and Ace calls him “the lousiest suitor” of the group (Riddle: “Urgh… What have I done?”).

Rook observes, “You bristle like a hedgehog when angered. It’s quite beautiful in its own right.”

Later, Riddle protects Ace and Epel from an attack (“He has such a tremendous presence despite his small stature!”) and sends the remaining members of the group on ahead to hold back a contingent of ghost guards on his own, saying, “We’re in this mess because of me. I’m taking responsibility for it.”
