Ruggie Bucchi’s Unique Magic

Ruggie explains that his unique magic Laugh with Me (hidden meaning: The Fool’s Parade)  enables him to dictate a target’s every move, and we get more detail from Jack, who says that his targets are forced to copy him.

Ruggie says that he has never tried his unique magic on plants before and says that it isn’t any good for fighting, but Azul assures him that “you just have to figure out its appropriate use.”

Limitations: Ruggie says that his unique magic “only lasts a few seconds.”

He seems to struggle with controlling multiple creatures and/or humans at once, which he is able to overcome in Book 2 by drinking a magic-boosting potion that enables him to control enough people simultaneously to form a stampede.

Side Effects: Riddle says that he felt a “peculiar sensation” when Ruggie took over his body without his knowledge in Book 2, and Jamil says he felt “kind of light-headed,” which he correctly assumes was the effect of someone’s unique magic due to having a similar unique magic.

Examples of Ruggie’s unique magic in the game: Ruggie uses “Laugh with Me” to injure an unspecified number of people during Book 2 including Jamil, uses it on Riddle to injure Trey, on Grim to steal a sandwich and festival visitors to start a stampede.

He also uses it on Leona at least twice: once in Book 2 to make him smile and once during Halloween to keep him from attacking Magicam Monsters.

Ruggie also uses “Laugh with Me” in Book 7 to control a static 3D model of Cheka.
