Sebek and Vil

Sebek and Vil mostly overlap during New Year, where Vil cautions Sebek about conserving his strength and Sebek insists that Vil’s concern is unwarranted, only for Vil to be proven right.

Sebek refuses Vil’s offer to strategize as a team, taking credit for beating Leona’s team and saying that Vil should be thanking him: “I have my own way of doing things. So I’ll thank you not to interfere, human!”

Vil comments that the very least Sebek could do is make himself look presentable and Seem is scandalized to realize that his hair “is a DISGRACE.”

Vil is surprised by Sebek’s investment in his appearance and Sebek explains, “an attendant must be perfect in all ways! To appear before the one they serve in a slovenly state is OUT OF THE QUESTION!”

Sebek asks how it is that Vil hair is not mussed and demands to know Vil’s secret. Vil responds, “If you are to attend Malleus, then it’s only natural you would know the appropriate way to make a request, no?,” which successfully forces politeness from Sebek. 

Afterwards Sebek compliments Vil on his immaculate hair and his undisturbed ensemble and Ruggie comments, “Kinda feels like those guys are suddenly best buds, huh?”

Vil’s secret is revealed to be an athletic hair wax, which Sebek says he bought immediately. Vil observes, “Another big reason your hair is holding up is because we started cooperating during the matches” and Sebek says that he has learned a lot.

He follows with an offer to procure anything it is that Vil may want, as long as he is able, as he would have no right to call himself Malleus’ attendant if he did not thank Vil properly for his help. Vil asks for some plants that are native to Briar Valley for his homemade personal care products and Sebek agrees to send for them. 

Sebek reflects, “I initially thought he was simply a nagging human, but he’s actually much more down-to-earth than I realized.”
