Silver explains that he tries not refer to Lilia as his father at the school as Lilia has asked him not to, so as not to confuse people (leading to many instances of Silver interrupting himself mid-word to change “Father” to “Lilia-senpai”).
We learn a little about Silver’s infancy from Lilia’s dorm vignette, where he says that he would have Silver drink milk from a mug, confirmed by Malleus (“I recall him feeding you milk from a mug even in your youngest days”).
Malleus says that watching Lilia roughly wipe down a baby bat with the sleeve of his coat reminds him of when Lilia would bathe Silver, to which Sebek responds, “l’m amazed you came out so hale and hearty.” (Silver: “Yes, I’m deeply grateful I’m here.”)
When the baby bat becomes stuck in a tree Lilia says they should leave it be, as if it falls to the grass and “it gets hurt, it’ll just heal up again!”
In response Sebek says, “Silver…for the first time in my life, I think I respect you.”
Silver is shown the moment that Lilia discovered him, in castle Wildrose, which was possibly the same place where Malleus was born.
Silver learns that he was born blonde, and Lilia guesses that he had been shielded from the destruction of the wars for Briarland’s resources by his parents and guardian fairies.
Lilia says, “You’ve been sleeping in this cradle since your kingdom’s fall, awaiting someone who would truly love you.” As Silver wakes up when no one but Lilia is nearby, Lilia assumes that the guardian fairies’ magic must be falling apart rather than make the connection that he is the “someone” capable of loving Silver.
Silver watches Lilia grapple with the temptation to murder him as an infant for revenge on the people who stole his country, murdered those he loved and ruined his life, and the moment where Lilia ultimately decides to let him live, both for Malleus and for the Dawn Knight who had spared him.
Lilia questions if he is capable of loving a human and Silver says he does not deserve it, yelling at his infant-self that he has no right to cry.
Lilia blesses Silver as a gift for his new birthday, accidentally turning his hair silver in the process, and then naming him for the color.
Silver sees various flashbacks of Lilia learning how to care for a human infant, such as going to Baul for advice and singing him the same lullaby as Maleanor would sing to Malleus.
It seems that Malleus, too, remembers the tune of the lullaby (though possibly not the words), but Malleus does not seem to remember where he learned it from. He guesses it was from a nursemaid so it is possible that Lilia sang it to Silver but not Malleus, or Malleus has forgotten.
Via flashback Silver learns how Malleus was not particularly enthusiastic about Lilia adopting him, telling Lilia that just discovering the infant didn’t mean that he had to raise “the thing” and saying Lilia could have dropped him off in a human land.
Lilia quotes Malleus’ father, saying that he hopes to learn more about humans through Silver and whether or not he is even capable of loving a human. Malleus asks, “What if you aren’t?,” and Lilia responds, “I’ve got plenty of time to find out.”
It seems Malleus was also present when Silver first stood on two feet.
In a Chat Malleus tells Silver that Lilia once told him, “Raising children is a nightmare even with magic”. Silver responds, “O-oh…he really said that?!”
Silver also sees himself saying his first word: calling Lilia “papa,” which he learned from a book that Lilia read to him. At first Lilia tries to explain that he is not truly Silver’s father, but then decides that they can save that discussion for when he is older.
Silver gets to relive the moment he discovered that Lilia is not his biological father from Lilia’s perspective, with Lilia admitting that he had been vague on purpose as he didn’t have to courage to tell him the truth. Lilia asks himself, “When did I start feeling this way?”
Silver relates this story from his own perspective later on, saying that he had been devastated to learn that he and Lilia were not blood related and he had fled their house into the woods during a storm: “I couldn’t progress forward, and I couldn’t go back home. I was at a complete loss and just started crying. But Father came looking for me, and he carried me on his back all the way home, even as I cried.”
Silver says that their life-or-death situation in Lilia’s dream has him feeling “a little inordinately happy” because now he can carry Lilia on his back: “This time, I’ll be the one to take Father home.”
We also hear this story in Silver’s first birthday vignette, where Silver says, “I don’t think I’ll ever forget the smile he wore on his face that day. I’m no longer concerned about blood relations. I’m my father’s only son, now and forever.”
During the parade of memories from his childhood Silver says that he doesn’t want to see anymore, so it seems that they were being shown to him against his will.
Silver also sees the moment that he presented Lilia with the acorn bracelet from the beginning of Book 7, which Lilia called his “single-most valuable possession” and something that even Malleus envies.
Silver sees himself explain to Lilia how he crafted the bracelet with help from squirrels and a woodpecker because he learned from oak tree fairies that having an acorn charm means that he will live a long, healthy life. Lilia seems moved that Silver, a human, wants him to live a long life, and squeezes Silver tight while saying he is sure that he can live another thousand years, with father and son saying that they love each other.
(In Book 7 Lilia says he was aware of his magic fading long before Silver and Sebek were born, so it is likely he already knew he had limited time left by this point.)
Silver seems to have forgotten both that day and the bracelet, but the sentiment remains: his wish for the Wish Upon a Star event is for Lilia to live a long life, saying, “I often find myself wishing he could live a very long happily ever after.”
Silver questions why Lilia would lie about a bunch of worthless, shriveled-up old acorns being his most valuable possession and unilaterally decides that Lilia could never truly love the Dawn Knight’s son.
Silver seems attached to his and Lilia’s home in Briar Valley and he is surprised to learn that Lilia had never intended to return to it after graduating from NRC. He asks what they should do with it and Lilia says they can “just let the forest take it again” if Silver doesn’t want to use it.
Silver responds, “I suppose I’ll decide…by the time I graduate,” but questions if it is safe to let Lilia go to the Land of Red Dragons alone. (“Maybe I should accompany him after all…”)
Sebek’s dream involves a dream version of Lilia who assures Silver that he plans to return to Briar Valley as soon as he graduates, saying, “Briar Valley is our home. Our house in the woods will be my final resting place…Besides, I would never go somewhere that far without you. Don’t you worry about a thing. Once you graduate, we’ll live together in that house in the woods again. Together forever…right?”
Silver responds that if that had been what Lilia really wanted, he would have gladly stayed with him forever.
Inside of Lilia’s dream Silver recognizes the smell of familiar woods, as the house where they used to live was across the mountain that they are traversing at the time.
Silver says, “…It’ll be okay. I’ll always carry the memories of my days there in my heart. No matter what lies ahead…I won’t go astray ever again.”
Silver says that he “found surprises at every turn” when he first left Briar Valley, and he would “see winged fae flying around all the time,” and would wish to join them when he was a child.
Silver struggles in Lilia’s dream while climbing Mount Dread, describing “sharp rocks protruding out everywhere like so many blades. It’s like the mountain doesn’t want us here…”
Lilia explains that the magic suffusing the mountain empowers the fae, but it could be harmful to humans.
Silver says that he used to struggle with flight because he was so used to brooms being things that walked around his house on their own.
Silver explains that he thought brooms and mops and buckets were actually living things that people treated as mere objects, which made him sad.
Later he learned that Lilia was just animating them with magic.
Silver says that it is pretty standard to use magic for things like chores in Briar Valley, but he hadn’t made the connection between magic and the animated brooms because he did not have any magic of his own at the time and he and Lilia lived far away from the nearest town: “I hardly saw the townsfolk and had no idea what their daily lives were like.”
In the main story Silver says that he has never been to the royal capital but this might conflict with Lilia’s Halloween vignette where Malleus and Silver seem to describe the same event on the same night in the same place: a plaza near the castle.
Silver says that he was amazed by how brightly light everything is at NRC after the sunsets, as it was “pitch dark” in the woods where he grew up.
Silver also does not speak or understand any fae dialects despite Lilia’s attempts teach him, which Sebek explains is because human ears have too narrow a hearing range.
Lilia and Silver relate a time from when they lived together and Lilia would recreate trick-or-treating for Silver by having him knock at their own door for treats over and over again, saying, “(Silver) would laugh and laugh no matter how many times we did it.”
Both Silver and Sebek describe a Halloween ten years ago when “an unbelievably sinister aura” rose from Lilia and “children and adults shuddered in fear and raced to their homes to wait out the nightmare”.
Silver may not have inherited Lilia’s joy of traveling: he says he finds it hard to relax in the unfamiliar land that is the Queendom of Roses, and he usually only leaves Sage’s Island to go back to Briar Valley.
Silver says that electronics are all new to him, much like they are to Malleus and Sebek, and Ortho says that “most people from Briar Valley are tech-challenged.”
When asked what dorm he would like to transfer to Silver initially says Ignihyde, as they could help him with “machines and the like,” but when Rook comments on how Ignihyde’s students would cower and flee if asked to exert themselves Silver changes his answer to Savanaclaw, instead.
During a birthday interview Silver tells Idia about a time that Ruggie went to him for help, taking him to a restaurant where the owner was arm wrestling patrons for a chance to eat for free.
Silver says that he struggled, but he was able to eke out a victory thanks to the encouragement he received from “Ruggie’s burly friends” and everyone else in the restaurant.
Silver explains, “Mobbed by townsfolk, gathered around a lively dinner table with friends my own age…It was something I could’ve never experienced back home. That day will stay with me for a long time indeed.”
Silver says he has never attended school outside of NRC (and neither has Lilia).
Silver explains that Lilia would take “extended trips” for weeks at a time when he was a child, leaving him alone to look after the cabin, fish in the lake, till the fields, tend to the crops, gather strawberries and play with his animal friends alone.
Lilia says that training Silver and Sebek “was pure physical rigor” and he would make them swim through rapids, climb mountains so high the air grew thin…you name it, really.”
We get a little of this information from Silver’s perspective where he says that Lilia was always putting him through drills as far back as he can remember: “It was grueling, to be sure. At times I would cry and swear I couldn’t go on. But Father would always build me back up, be it with a stern look or a kind word.”
Silver talks about a time he was climbing a sheer cliff an Lilia climbed beside him to show him how it should be done, saying, “He’s a remarkable man. And his faith in me allowed me to grow into who I am today.”
Lilia says that he did eventually take a more hands-off approach with the two children, giving them the freedom to play while watching over them from the shadows.
Lilia says that Silver and Sebek would “play tag in forests crawling with dangerous beasts. They would play hide-and-seek in vast, sprawling deserts. Oh, and then there was red light, green light – except they’d play amidst the mountain crags, atop nigh-volcanic terrain! They both grew into fine young men. I’ve not a doubt that I made the right call in re-evaluating their education!”
We get an example of this “hands-off approach” from Sebek’s perspective where he describes a time that he and Silver were abandoned on a mountain for a week with basic survival tools, despite how neither of them had any serious experience living outdoors at the time.
During Spectral Soiree Jamil compliments Silver on his acting: “Showing the whites of your eyes, sticking your tongue out, popping that vein on your forehead and shaking your hair around…you looked less like a long and more like a foul monster ruling the forest.” Silver says that Lilia has trained him well in “the art of intimidation”.
Lilia has taught Silver the mark of a true warrior is being able to run across lotus leaves on the surface of water, which Lilia can do. Silver says, “I haven’t mastered that skill, so I’m not a true warrior yet.”
Silver relates a story that Lilia told him about a hero who could fire three arrows at once and hit three targets. Silver says he has yet to reach that point, but he works hard in the Equestrian Club and he does other forms of training to follow in the footstep’s of the hero from Lilia’s tale.
Silver says that as long as he keeps at it, he is sure that he will pull off the triple-arrow shot one day, and that a guard of Malleus’ must always build upon their strength.
At the end of the tale it is revealed that the hero in question was female, and Jamil reacts with annoyance to Silver burying the lede. Silver apologizes, saying that storytelling isn’t his strong suit.
Silver’s disliked food is officially listed as “Lilia’s cooking.” He is more willing than Epel to eat a pie with fish heads sticking out of it, explaining, “I don’t see what all the fuss is. It isn’t all that different from a lot of things l’ve eaten in my time…”
Silver says that the cooking at NRC left him awestruck, as aside from the meals he would make for himself, he grew up on his father’s “…particular brand of home cooking.”
When Lilia suggests he bake a cake for the NBC social Silver’s first response is “NO! Not that… Anything but that!,” and he physically intervenes when Lilia suggests roasting rats and lizards for food in his dream.
Silver volunteers to oversee the cooking and Lilia responds, “fae have far more sensitive palates than humans do. If you try to slip in anything funny, I’ll know,” shocking Silver, to Lilia’s confusion.
During Culinary Crucible Silver says that he wants to expand his cooking repertoire in order to cook more enjoyable meals for Lilia, and to earn money so that he will be less of a burden on Lilia in the future.
Silver tells Riddle about how he used to fall asleep while learning to cook when he was younger which would lead to Lilia having to take over in the middle of the process. Silver says, “It never occurred to me just how much he did to keep me safe.”
Silver relates an anecdote about trying to cook with a traditional wood-burning stove when Lilia was away from home, as it was a cold day and he thought Lilia might appreciate coming home to a hot pot-au-feu.
Silver says he fell asleep during the process, waking up to a burned mess that he made worse by adding water to, resulting in an “inky-black disaster of a soup” and making the whole house smell like smoke.
Riddle asks if he was disciplined when Lilia returned and Silver says, “No, actually. He just smiled and said he was glad I was unharmed. I remember him saying that failure was the mother of all success, and that it was okay as long as I learned something from this.”
Silver says that Lilia then “served himself up a heaping bowl of the mess” and despite how it wasn’t remotely edible, complimented him on the meal’s “distinctive flavor profile”.
Silver says that he is “altogether proud to be his son.”
During Halloween Silver says that he has “the utmost faith” in Lilia and that Lilia “can handle any situation, no matter how perilous.” During Phantom Bride he refuses to leave Malleus’ side (despite Malleus’ protests) because he is certain that it is what Lilia would want him to do.
Lilia says that he enjoys video games because people all over the world can play together and break down the barriers that divide them. Lilia says, “What a blessedly placid era we live in” and Silver responds “And I, for my part…will do everything I can to protect that peace.”
Lilia and Silver are often getting gifts for one another. Lilia mentions a time when Silver, at seven years old, baked cookies for him for his birthday.

Silver gets a bookmark made from foxgloves for Lilia as a souvenir from the Queendom of Roses. Ortho explains, “Their toxicity gives them a somewhat scary reputation, but they can also be used to make medicine. It’s saved many lives since antiquity,” and Silver responds, “You may as well have just described Lilia.”
Silver says he will pick out something in Fleur City that perfectly suits Lilia’s tastes, and he vetoes a glass mobile on the grounds that Lilia would prefer something flashier and more fun.

Rollo shows them a type of magic firework disguised as a handkerchief and, while Ruggie describes it as a kid’s toy (“Would it really be good for a dad?”), Silver says it will make a fine gift. Idia says that Silver’s dad “sounds like one playful dude” and Silver responds, “He is. A bundle of fun and cheer all around.”

Silver mentions Lilia getting him picture books from other lands when he was a child, and a cake that Lilia bought for him as reward for passing a special training challenge. Silver says that is made him really happy, and Lilia seems pleased that he liked it so much.

Lilia says that there was a time when he would always bring traditional garb from the countries he visited home for Silver as souvenirs, and he once sought out and brought him, Sebek and Malleus back pieces of ice “that shone in all the colors of the rainbow.”
Lilia bring back woven souvenirs from Sunset Savanna for himself, Silver, Sebek and Malleus, all in the same pattern, but the other three members of Diasomnia seem equally pleased by a photograph of Lilia himself, which surprises him.
When Epel suggests asking Deuce’s mother to pick out a souvenir for him to give to Vil, Silver says that he thinks it is important for Epel to pick it out for himself, like Lilia does when he brings home gifts.

The advice that Lilia imparts to Silver might be infamous at the school: During the Firelit Sky event the members of the tour group assume that Lilia will be inviting Silver.
Cater says that Lilia loves spoiling Silver and is always taking it upon himself to teach Silver things. Trey responds, “True, but it feels like most of what he’s teaching him is utter nonsense…”

Other things Lilia has taught Silver include the requisites of being a perfect prince, such as joining a princess in song, having sparkling white teeth and riding a white horse. Lilia has also taught Silver that the secret to singing is to look at one’s own reflection in water (Idia is not convinced), which Silver says has helped him a lot.

Silver has also possibly adopted Lilia’s habit of silently appearing behind people without their knowing.
Other advice from Lilia to Silver includes “we should respect each other’s beliefs,” “an aerial toss is the best way to honor bravery,” “the moment you think you’ve won is the moment you’re the most vulnerable,” and “as long as you survive, you can worry about the rest later.”

This last point is emphasized during Book 7 when Silver descends into the darkness of Lilia’s dream, but finds that his body keeps fighting, “like it’s trying to survive,” because Lilia taught him to survive no matter what.
At his lowest point Silver hears Lilia’s voice in the darkness telling him “It’s okay to turn tail and flee. It’s okay to use dirty tricks that break the rules. But you must never, ever give up on living.”
Silver quotes Lilia back to himself during his dream when Lilia tries to sacrifice himself and have Silver save Malleus in his stead, and Silver refuses.

Silver has an emotional breakdown to Malleus in Book 7, explaining his adoration for Lilia: “Father is fae. I’m human. I’m not related to him by blood, and there’s no other reason for him to be responsible for me. Yet he took me in…barely anyone in Briar Valley knows how to care for a human. And Father lived alone there.I can only imagine how hard it must’ve been for him to raise a human baby with no one to turn to for help…”
Silver says that he can never thank Lilia enough and was ready to spend the rest of his life repaying him, but Malleus suggests that Lilia might be feeling much the same way, and possibly believes that Silver “shouldn’t have to spend part of (his) fleeting human life looking after a feeble old man.”
When they return to Diasomnia Silver denies that he has been crying, and tries to protect Lilia from the overblotted Malleus.
Sebek points out that when Lilia manages to awake from his dream it will be to die, but Silver insists, “He’d want to anyway. I know Father would advise against what Malleus is doing right now.”
After Sebek goes to bed Silver admits that he wavered for a moment, and started to believe that staying in Lilia’s dream would mean that Lilia and Malleus could both be happy.
One of the first things that Lilia says Silver’s group when they appear in his dream is that they have a nocturnal fae’s blessing upon them (possibly Lilia’s own blessing on Silver), and Silver seems to recognize Lilia immediately.
At the start of Lilia’s dream Silver plays into the role of an NRC student sent to try and recruit Lilia, who agrees to let them join his troops if they are capable of making contact with him in a fight.
Silver decides to take the chance to deliver a shock to his system and wake him up, and the team of Silver and Sebek manage to knock off his mask.
When they make camp Lilia tells them to go back to school for their own good but Silver refuses, saying that he is certain that school life will be an irreplaceable experience for Lilia.
When Silver insists he is willing to stay with Lilia’s troops even at the risk of his own life Lilia observes, “I’m starting to suspect that Night Raven College is full of people who are weird even by human standards.”
Silver responds that, while it is true that the school houses a great number of unique individuals, the sheer amount of diversity means that every day is educational.
On their journey Lilia tests the group by sending them to capture a group of silver owls, but they fail. Silver apologizes and Lilia says they did a good enough job fighting them, but had no plan for what came after.
Silver initially calls Lilia “father” when they meet within his dream but Lilia responds, “I have no son — and certainly no human one,” giving the group permission to call him whatever they want so long as it isn’t “father.”
When Baul argues against letting Silver’s group join the troops Lilia says, “If they ever slow us down, we can just ditch them. Not like we’re responsible for their well-being.”
Silver reflects, “While he may look the same visually, he’s very different from the father I know. I never really knew him at all, did I…?”
Silver continues to struggle with what he knows of his father and the younger Lilia throughout their journey.
When they come across another group of silver owls later on Lilia unceremoniously kicks Silver into a clearing to use him as bait, saying, “I can get some use out of you.”
Silver does not look “too happy” afterwards and Lilia asks if he is sympathizing with his own kind or perhaps hates underhanded tactics, but then follows with, “Never mind, I don’t actually care. Point is, if you’re staying with us, you’d better make yourself useful.”
Silver again reflects, “It’s definitely my father I’m seeing. But he’s so different from the father I know…”
Later in the dream, however, Silver uses similar tactics when trying to protect Malleus and an unconscious Lilia.
The prefect has the option of reacting with surprise that Silver would suggest an ambush and Silver says, “Father drilled that particular lesson into me from an early age. ’In emergencies, any notion of ‘fair and square’ goes completely out the window.’” He follows with, “Thinking about what l’ve been taught over the years, I’ve realized…Father hasn’t changed all that much from his active duty days aside from his manner of speech, has he?”
Lilia wonders what kind of parent could have raised someone as taciturn and quiet and Silver responds, “I… was raised by a bright, boisterous father. He’s strict but kind. I’m proud to be his son.”
Lilia says that he has never liked children for being obnoxious, selfish, quick to cry and weak: “I shudder to imagine having to look after someone who gets worn out at the slightest exertion.”
Sebek asks if he might change his mind in the future if he were to have a family of his own and Lilia responds that if his history is anything to go by, he will never have a proper family. Silver thanks Sebek.
In Lilia’s dream he gives Silver’s group a final opportunity to leave before they reach the citadel and Silver refuses. Lilia says they have no reason to involve themselves any further and Silver responds, “I have reason enough! After all, I’m your…”
Silver gets nearly caught in a trap set for the fae inside the citadel but he is saved by Lilia (“Told you…’m not…your father…”)
When Baul asks why he would do such a thing Lilia responds, “When I saw Silver in danger, my body sprung into action.” Silver silently reflects, “even in a dream…you’re still my…”)
Baul orders Silver and Sebek to surrender to the enemy in order to possibly spare their lives but Silver refuses, saying that he might have died if it were not for Lilia and he owes him his life: “I need no other reason. Humans, fae…those distinctions don’t matter to me.”
While searching for brooms Silver’s group happens upon terrified cooks who seem to think the fae are there to kill them, and while Silver acknowledges that they must seem like enemies from their perspective, he still asks for their help.
The cooks agree to show them where the brooms are kept, though they wonder if they are siding with the fae because they are being threatened.
The cooks also prepare food for the group and Silver recommends that they remain in hiding until the fae have left, apologizing for the fright they have caused.
Silver and Sebek then insist on clearing a path through the siege of silver owls for the injured fae soldiers to escape, much to Lilia’s disapproval, but he tells them they did well after their plan succeeds.
Silver then produces the food that the cooks prepared for them, and while the remaining fae soldiers seem uncomfortable with accepting provisions from humans Lilia encourages them to “eat it, and be grateful.”
When Maleanor begins striking Lilia with lightning to force him out of the castle Silver physically intervenes, earning him a lightning strike from Maleanor in response. Silver begs the two to stop, saying, “Why must you fight when you care for each other so much?!”
While Silver caught up in his own despair at the revelation of his lineage, Lilia appears to him. Lilia calls him the Dawn Knight and he is suddenly in the Dawn Knight’s body, with Lilia threatening to kill him for what he has done to Maleanor and Raverne.
Silver calls him father and Lilia responds, “How dare you call me ‘father,’ loathsome HUMAN?!”
The two do battle, despite Silver insisting that he does not want to fight and that he will never show his face to Lilia again.
Lilia says he will be sending him off to join Maleanor and Raverne, and when he fades into darkness Silver realizes, “This is the darkness my heart gave rise to…” and says that he wishes to sink into “a deeper sleep, one I won’t wake up from…”
Lilia’s voice then comes to him, tell him to stand and that it is okay to run away or use dirty tricks, but he must never, ever give up on living.
Silver fights as he is bade and hears Lilia’s voice telling him, “Well done, Silver. That’s my…” but Silver questions if it was just another vision that he conjured to comfort himself in the dark.
(As of this post Lilia has never referred to Silver as his son. There was a change on EN where he does so during Halloween, but this is not canon to the original game.)
Silver is distraught by the idea that Lilia and Malleus must hate him for his lineage, asking how Lilia must have felt raising someone with the same face as his foe.
He accidentally beats Sebek in a fight for his own sanity and Sebek asks how he could ever say he was not loved: “If he hated you, he didn’t have to give or teach you anything. He could’ve raised you into a dimwitted coward and made you a servant. But he didn’t-and look at you now. Even alone and helpless, you stood firm. You spoke up, unfaltering in the face of our liege’s madness. Even trapped in the darkest despair, you kept on fighting! Who raised you to be so strong? What can you call your strength, if not the direct result of Lilia’s love?!”
Silver realizes that, while he’d thought he had been imagining it, even in the darkness he has been hearing Lilia’s voice telling him to live: “Everything Father taught me proves his love.”
Sebek asks what it is he will do next and Silver says he wants to make his dream of becoming a knight who protects Lilia and Malleus come true.
Silver becomes enraged at the silver owls who are hunting down Lilia and the egg he carries, arriving just in time to save Lilia from being executed in a scene where he uses the “kisama” form of you for possible the first (and only) time in the entire game (more here).
Silver defeats the entire group of silver owls who had been fighting to kill Lilia and Lilia tries to get Silver to deliver Malleus to safety instead, saying that he will lie to the silver owls about disposing of the egg in a ravine in order to buy time for Silver to escape (knowing that they will kill him regardless).
Silver ignores this request, instead hoisting Lilia onto his back. Grim comments on Silver’s impressive stamina, carrying Lilia up a mountain in the rain while battling back armored troops trying to kill him.
When it is revealed that Lilia left the royal guard after failing to save Maleanor (“Maleanor… Raverne… Is this where you are? Take me with you…please…let me join you on the other side…”) Silver says that he had never known the circumstances under which Lilia resigned, as Lilia had told him that he never went to the royal capital because it “just wasn’t his kind of place.”
Silver says that he had assumed that Lilia liked living quietly, surrounded by nature.
When Malleus appears in Lilia’s dream Silver declares that they will be crushing his blessing, which successfully awakens Lilia. Lilia sends Silver and the group away to distract Malleus on his own despite Silver’s insistence that they run away together, asking them to take care of the real-world Malleus on his behalf.
Silver promises to wake Lilia and everyone from their Malleus-imposed sleep, telling Lilia that they have a lot to discuss.
