Lilia and Silver are often getting gifts for one another. Lilia mentions a time when Silver, at seven years old, baked cookies for him for his birthday.
Silver gets a bookmark made from foxgloves for Lilia as a souvenir from the Queendom of Roses. Ortho explains, “Their toxicity gives them a somewhat scary reputation, but they can also be used to make medicine. It’s saved many lives since antiquity,” and Silver responds, “You may as well have just described Lilia.”
Silver says he will pick out something in Fleur City that perfectly suits Lilia’s tastes, and he vetoes a glass mobile on the grounds that Lilia would prefer something flashier and more fun.
Rollo shows them a type of magic firework disguised as a handkerchief and, while Ruggie describes it as a kid’s toy (“Would it really be good for a dad?”), Silver says it will make a fine gift. Idia says that Silver’s dad “sounds like one playful dude” and Silver responds, “He is. A bundle of fun and cheer all around.”
Silver mentions Lilia getting him picture books from other lands when he was a child, and a cake that Lilia bought for him as reward for passing a special training challenge. Silver says that is made him really happy, and Lilia seems pleased that he liked it so much.
Lilia says that there was a time when he would always bring traditional garb from the countries he visited home for Silver as souvenirs, and he once sought out and brought him, Sebek and Malleus back pieces of ice “that shone in all the colors of the rainbow.”
Lilia bring back woven souvenirs from Sunset Savanna for himself, Silver, Sebek and Malleus, all in the same pattern, but the other three members of Diasomnia seem equally pleased by a photograph of Lilia himself, which surprises him.
When Epel suggests asking Deuce’s mother to pick out a souvenir for him to give to Vil, Silver says that he thinks it is important for Epel to pick it out for himself, like Lilia does when he brings home gifts.
