Sebek says that not even his yelling will wake Silver up in the morning, and Silver also does not wake up in response to a “high-powered concert amp.”
In a vignette Silver goes to the school store in search of something that will wake him up, and his motivation for attending the White Rabbit Fes in Deuce’s hometown is to add to his “array of alarm clocks.”
Silver oversleeps at the beginning of the event, saying that he’d thought four alarms clocks would be enough to wake him.
He says that ordinary alarm clocks do not work on him and he needs “something really loud. Or grating. Or both.”
He opts for an alarm clock with voice recording, saying that someone’s voice might be more likely to wake him than a mechanical noise.
The Rabbit Fes group records a wake-up call together but Silver says he is not sure that it will be enough, so Deuce records a “very impactful” wake-up call on his own, which does successfully wake Silver up after he falls asleep during the climatic Rabbit Run race.
Silver goes to various lengths to try and keep himself awake: he tries getting extra sleep and then drinking a lot of black coffee, drinking black tea, and eating a peppermint candy.
He has a chat line about wanting a spell to keep himself from randomly falling asleep.
He tells his tsum, “I’ve been trying a variety of approaches to see what helps me fend off my own bouts of drowsiness. Swinging a baton, sprinting, weight training…a bunch of things. Unfortunately none of it’s really helped me, but it might be a useful point of reference for you.”
He suggests that they try training together to stay conscious, and the next we see them they are both asleep.
