Malleus and Lilia are undergoing examinations at STYX, and Idia reveals that Lilia and Malleus’ magical wavelengths are so similar that “they might as well be from the same person.”
Idia suggests this is a result of a reaction between Malleus’ broken horn and Silver’s ring.
In a simulation Malleus is asked to use magic at full power, but he is unable to do so until Lilia touches him.
When holding Lilia’s hand, Malleus is able to perform magic as he did before his horn broke.
Malleus apologizes that Lilia will not be able to be free of him and Lilia explains that he had not wanted to be free of Malleus from the start, but he also had not wanted Silver to waste his short life taking care of him as he aged.
Malleus calls Lilia his friend and decides to return to NRC.
Someone unidentified finds a stone at Diasomnia.
Lilia presents Silver with a magical pen engraved with his full name, Silver Vanrouge, and a formal adoption application, that Silver signs and Malleus sends to the Ministry of Justice to update their family registry.
Lilia calls Silver his son for the first time.
The group goes to Ramshackle to investigate the prefect’s bedroom mirror, but discover nothing unusual. Malleus volunteers to oversee an investigation planned by the first-year students.
