Twisted Wonderland Event Summary: Tapis Rouge

Vil has been hired to promote a new movie at a famous film festival in the Shaftlands.

The day before the event Vil is swarmed by students who wish to join him, but he can only bring five people. Azul, Jamil and Ace work together to rig a drawing and get themselves selected.

Vil brings the students to Luxe, a famous brand from whom he has ordered couture looks for the entire group. Azul refuses to accept the clothing as a gift, thus putting him in debt to Vil, but Vil assures him he intends to receive proper compensation: the students are to perform crowd control, touch up his makeup and take photos of him for Magicam during the event.

Azul accepts these terms and the group changes into their Luxe couture. Vil also receives a poison-apple motif bag, explaining that he will also be wearing a 100-carat tiara of diamonds, pink sapphires, rubies, emeralds and rubellites.

Vil takes the group to a cosmetics shop and purchases a special makeup set being offered to celebrate the film that he has come to promote.

Vil also takes the group to his favorite patisserie, and tells them that they will be accompanying him to a dinner with the film producer who hired him for this job: his father, Eric Venue.

The next day the group goes on a studio tour of film production company Queen’s Film Studios where they learn about animation techniques and live film production.

After shopping at the studio store they return to Luxe for Vil’s tiara but it has not arrived due to a traffic jam.

Shop staff offer a variety of alternatives, but Vil rejects them all. When they try to give up Vil motivates them to keep trying (“Quit groveling and show me what you can DO!”).

The students discover Grim eating chocolate in a fitting room and, after taking it away from him, he gets entangled in curtains that he pulls down around himself. This inspires Vil, who turns the curtains into a cape to wear on the red carpet.

Vil also prepares a theatrical way to debut his outfit in its final form.

Vil says thanks the students for being “the perfect accessories” and Eric approaches Vil, saying, “I have a request as an industry insider, not as your father. Once you’ve graduated Night Raven College and you’re ready to come back to the silver screen, what say you let me produce your first feature?”

Vil responds, “allow me to answer, not as your son, but an industry insider as well. Only if your terms are acceptable to me.”

Eric: “Spoken like a true A-lister!”
