On October 17, 2025 Disney+ JP announced that animated, day-in-the-life, original stories are going to be released following each episode of the main anime story, featuring the characters in chibi form (source).

On November 9, 2025, Yana confirmed that the art, scenarios and all direction for the anime are being overseen by Disney:

“The art, scenarios, and all direction for the Twst anime are handled by Disney. You can catch a glimpse of notes showing what points they focused on when designing the characters and drawing them so beautifully…it’s already proving educational.”【Toboso】

Announced by DisneyPlusJP, the voice actors from Twisted Wonderland game have been retained in season 1 of the anime including all 22 of the main student cast, the faculty, the dark mirror and Chenya.

Azakami Youhei joined the cast as manga/anime-exclusive character Enma Yuuken, with music by the Twisted Wonderland game’s composer Ozawa Takumi.

When asked about his approach to the Twisted Wonderland anime, Scriptwriter Kato Yoichi said:

Since the anime adaptation is being produced based on the comic version, I studied both the comic and the game simultaneously. Every aspect of Twisted-Wonderland, its characters, story, and world, is full of catchy appeal and depth, so my first priority was to make sure none of that charm was lost in the adaptation.

As a scriptwriter, my focus was entirely on preserving each character’s personality and expressing them in a lively and authentic way. When writing original lines, I referred not only to the comic but also to the game, and after multiple rounds of careful supervision, we finalized the script.
