Silver may not be very skilled at reading people’s emotions: he seems unaware of Malleus “brimming with jealousy” while staring at Sebek in his ceremonial robes, saying, “He seems fine to me.”
When Ruggie discovers that he has not brought along Leona’s wallet and he cannot afford what he’s been tasked to pick up from the school store, even when half-asleep Silver does not hesitate to offer to lend him money.
Silver seems to often be quieter than other students, with Lilia saying that he is not usually so eloquent after Silver compliments his appearance in a tuxedo, and Silver himself saying, “I just don’t have much to talk about.”
It is unclear to what degree Silver trusts (or doesn’t trust) Azul: in a vignette Silver asks Sebek if he got ripped off when Azul sold him laundry detergent, so he clearly knows to be wary, but Azul says Silver made the unwise promise to do “anything” for him for his birthday.
During the Culinary Crucible Silver tells Riddle not to worry too much about peeling the onions as the skin isn’t inedible, and a ghost responds that Silver is “far more haphazard” than he appears.
Silver has a voice line that says, “I can feel strength coursing through my hands every time I swing my sword. It’s so potent, I could swear I was dreaming.” (He is actually smiling as he says it, which is rare outside of conversations with/about Lilia.)
He also says that he is “no stranger to knife-handling.”
During Spectral Soiree we learn that Silver is very big on survival: he checks suspicious-looking tanks in the Spectral Realm for fish that they might eat, finding instead something that might have been “a corpse of some kind”, though he expresses no particular concern about it.
Silver explains, “Hunger saps your stamina and clouds your thinking, It’s vital to secure food source in any crisis.”
Later on Jamil and Silver find themselves in a canyon and Silver observes, “At least we don’t have to worry about water.” “We could survive for more than a month out here.” Jamil says that Silver has “a real survivalist mindset” but the things he is saying are kind of freaking him out. Silver says that he likes to think that he knows more about surviving in the wild than most and recommends that they descend into the canyon to see if the water from a nearby waterfall is potable.
Our first introduction to Silver is as a “boy with silver hair” who appears at the end of Book 2 and asks for Sebek’s help with relocating people who have been wounded to a safer location (Sebek responds, “Do not presume to order me around, Silver!”).
In an early promotional tweet there is a video where Silver says, “That’s strange…I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before”.
There may be a theme of Silver remembering people’s roles in the school better than he is able to remember their names.
