At the start of the VDC training camp Vil confiscates “every sugar- and flour-based snack and drink” that the team members have brought with them, saying that he is “banning all snacks that detract from an optimum nutritional intake” and drawing up a set of meals that are high in vitamins and proteins.
Vil says, “what matters most for growth is a balanced diet and proper sleep” and seems particular unamused by late-night snacking, with Grim saying that Vil would yell at him whenever he had a midnight snack during Ramshackle’s renovations.
Vil expresses concern about a pastry that includes a large amount of “high-calorie cream” during the Tapis Rouge event, and comments during Port Fest that, while festivals are great, “they are always lacking in vegetables.”
Vil says this is “an utterly intolerable situation for one with (his) particular sense of aesthetics and beauty” and, as a result, Azul changes the food stall’s menu from “standard festival foods” to a salad cup.
Vil compliments Jamil for crafting a dressing that is “oil free, low calorie, low sodium, yet with a flavor that is second to none” for the salad, asking for the recipe so that he might share it with the students of Pomefiore.
Vil has a Playfulland voice line recommending a hamburger to the prefect, as “the whole wheat buns and ample vegetables make them a relatively nutritious option.”
Vil says that he has nothing against meat but he is more interested in the wide array of fruits available during the Cloudcalling event, as “many fruits are full of rejuvenating and beautifying vitamins.” Vil enjoys a mango during the event, at Kifaji’s recommendation.
Vil also mentions bananas as being “are rich in nutrients, and easy to digest as well. A perfect supplement before engaging in athletics.”
When Leona orders nothing but meat from the restaurant they visit, Vil tells the prefect that preferring to have the option of vegetables is “a proper mindset to have,” as balance is important.
