Vil and Jack met for the first time when Jack interrupted a group of children who were bullying Vil for his role as a villain on a TV show, but child-Vil insisted that he could have fended them all off without help, as he was trained in boxing and fencing.
Jack apologizes for butting in, and Vil thanks him.
Jack says that he doesn’t watch very much TV, but guesses that Vil’s acting was just so convincing that they thought it was real. Vil responds, “Then I’ll win the lead role in my next audition and move them to tears,” but it is not confirmed if he ever won that lead role.
Vil says that back when he and Jack lived in the same neighborhood he once took Vil to see “an exquisite view” of the aurora.
Jack and Vil reunite on Jack’s first day at NRC, where Vil explains that Jack was the only one in their town who would say hello whenever they saw each other.
Jack says he hopes he wasn’t a nuisance and Vil responds, “Not particularly. I just found it interesting,” as there were many who resented him for being a celebrity, but Jack left an impression on him as “an oddball who never cared about such things.”
Vil makes a mental note to scold Jack for wearing his robes incorrectly at the next opportunity to do so, which he does.
Vil gives a lengthy explanation on how it is Jack should be wearing the robes and the importance of doing so. Jack promises to be careful despite how he doesn’t really understand what he has been told just because he knows that it is important to Vil, and Vil responds, “You really are an interesting one.”
Jack also compliments Vil on “a gorgeous look that’s still very you” after Vil gives an explanation of his Playfulland outfit that Jack fails to understand, and Vil compliments him back in turn.
When Vil says that he has added something special for Halloween Jack says that he has more “grandeur” than usual: “It’s this powerful presence that makes people feel like if they avert their eyes for even a second, they’re doomed.”
