Leading up to the Playfulland event Vil insists that he is only accompanying Ortho and the others to ensure that nothing happens to them, but Leona calls him out on the “very nice-sounding, made-up excuse,” saying, “You were just drawn to the promise of a stage performance and you know it.” Vil admits that he would be lying if he said he wasn’t interested in it.
Vil’s opponent in the Cloudcalling event intentionally kicks him in the leg, against the rules and worrying Kifaji, who blames Leona.
Leona responds, “Guess you look at Vil and think he’s delicate or somethin’. Just watch,” and Vil wins his round of the tournament, saying that he is a double threat of model and actor: “Faking pain is easy for me.”
Leona calls Vil out for getting hurt during his round, despite Vil’s insistence that he had only been pretending and is in perfect condition.
Directly before Vil’s final round Leona again calls Vil out for being injured despite the rest of the team saying that he looks fine. Leona says, “Don’t try to hide it. You’ve been strugglin’ ever since round one. It’s not like you…You didn’t let on durin’ the bouts, of course. Not in front of your adorin’ public. But whenever Lilia or Kalim was in the ring, I saw you favorin’ that leg from time to time.”
Vil responds, “…If you were able to see through me, then I dare say I need to improve my acting skills,” revealing that he actually did get injured in the first round and has been pretending otherwise.
Vil insists, “I will not simply give in. If it’s that or lose by default, I’ll fight on a broken leg if needs must,” but rather than risk injuring Vil further Leona joins the tournament himself, despite how his participation would mean an immediate disqualification and bring shame onto the entire royal family (re: Kifaji).
Afterwards Vil comments on how it doesn’t seem fair that Leona stole the spotlight and Leona responds, “Couldn’t pass up a chance to put you herbivores in your place, could I?”
