Vil is a model, and says that he has often visited the Fairest City for fashion shows. For the Tapis Rouge event he is again hired as a model in order to promote a film.
Vil has said that he does not do photographs for free, and while asking Ruggie, “You think a photo with me runs a mere 50 thaumarks?,” we have never been given an example of what his rates might be.
Vil also refuses to let Cater take a picture of or with him for Cater’s personal Magicam, explaining, “My face is one that turns a profit. ‘For exposure’ is beneath me.”
During Halloween we see that Vil is willing to pose for photos with fans for free, saying that he has no interest in wasting his beauty on Magicam for a fleeting fad but the people who came to NRC for the event deserve at least a small gesture of good faith.
“My celebrity status has no bearing whatsoever on common courtesy and validating others’ efforts. Trust that I will do everything in my power to ensure our visitors leave satisfied!”
After infusing a mandrake with magic Vil’s begins to strike “cool poses on beat,” which Vil describes as a form of dance called voguing. Vil says, “Maybe it’s because I was doing a photoshoot for a magazine yesterday and felt inspired.”
During Ace’s second birthday vignette Vil gives him advice on how to pose.
The students of Pomefiore put on a fashion show with Vil’s tsum as the model, using spare cloth to make scarves and hats for it to wear, setting up jewelry boxes and creating an impromptu runway.
The Pomefiore students request the tsum to model for them again in the school’s courtyard, and while the students are starstruck Vil describes its poses as “amateur at best. Hardly worthy of my recognition.”
