Vil, Crewel and Crowley

Jamil reaches out to Vil and Crewel for their help with the Fairy Gala fashion show and the two seem to get along well:

Vil: You’ll be the stars of the fashion show with our support. Isn’t that right, Professor Crewel?
Crewel: But of course, Schoehnehit.
Vil & Crewel: Ha ha ha!

Vil is very complimentary of Crewel’s Fairy Gala designs (Crewel: “It’s nice having a proper fashionista here”), with Crewel encouraging the Fairy Gala team to heed Vil’s modeling lessons.

During the Lantern event Crewel calls in Vil to help with styling, with Vil providing a sewing kit and makeup. Vil explains that he cannot allow for outfits designed by Crewel to be worn shoddily.

Vil unknowingly reveals the plot twist of Crewel’s participation in the second Vargas Camp event very early by complimenting the special outfits that a few of the students are rewarded with: “I have to say, I’m impressed. Though the overall aesthetic reminds me of Professor Crewel’s tastes. Perhaps he helped Coach Vargas pick everything out.”

When Crewel reveals that he did not select his own costume for the event (it was designed by Vargas) Vil responds, “I don’t know what I would’ve done if that had been Professor Crewel’s design,” saying that it will give him nightmares.

We see Crowley “stunned speechless” by Vil during Halloween, describing him as “a leading global talent”, but Vil seems less impressed by Crowley. When the rest of the staff expresses concern for the students’ safety Crowley reveals concern for police visiting the school, leading Vil to observe, “the headmage…is only raising more questions than answers.”

Vil is similarly unamused by Crowley during Fairy Gala, pointing out that “The headmage is the one responsible for campus affairs. As a student, I fail to see how any of this is my job.”
