Vil Schoenheit’s Unique Magic

Vil explains that his unique magic Fairest One of All (hidden meaning: The poison of a beautiful flower) gives him the power to place a curse upon anything he touches.

He says it is “a curse so potent, not even I can lift it before its stated conditions are met.” (Ace: “That’s even more sinister than poison! It doesn’t even taste any different!”)

Unlike Leona, it seems that Vil does need to be able to come into physical contact with the object in order for the spell to work.

Vil says, “My signature spell can produce positive effects as well, depending on the terms I set.”

Examples of Vil’s unique magic in the game: Vil uses his unique magic in Book 5 to curse food gifted from Trey, during Vargas Camp 2 to curse a lake and in Book 6 to curse toner.

The cursed food immobilizes those who eat it until sunrise, the cursed lake immobilizes anyone who touches it until he permits them to move, and the cursed toner instantly dissolves anything that touches it.

Vil also curses apply juice in Book 5 to give to Neige, which evaporates into a mist and dissolves the floor. At first Rook cautions that the mist will immobilize them, but then he wonders how such a small amount is causing such a drastic transformation, and seems to realize that Vil may have cursed the juice to kill.

This was possibly confirmed in Vil’s dream of Book 7 where we see an alternate end to Book 5 where Rook did not stop Neige from drinking the juice and the NRC team won the competition, with Neige unconscious, giving no vital signs and turning cold.

At the conclusion of Vil’s dream he again uses his unique magic on apple juice, cursing crowds of people and Neige to “have their blood run cold” and “never wake up again.”
