Yuuka’s Voice Actor Fairouz Ai

Hirasaka Yuuka is voiced by Fairouz Ai, who has been active in the voice acting industry since 2019.

In an interview with NewType Magazine Fairouz explains that her father is Egyptian and her mother is Japanese, and in elementary school she asked her parents if she could try attending a school in Egypt.

She was raised speaking Japanese and Arabic and lived with her paternal grandmother while attending school in Egypt from fifth to sixth grade. ( Interview Source )

She returned to Tokyo upon starting middle school, which is when she discovered manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and decided she wanted to become strong like character Jolyne Cujoh. She joined a group of fans who would read JoJo manga aloud over Skype, inspiring her to pursue voice acting.

In the 2019 (July 2) interview she is asked if she would like to voice Jolyne in the future and she says no, she would like to voice Foo Fighters, who supports Jolyne, but she would ultimately go on to voice Jolyne in the 2022-2023 anime adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

On the subject of being cast as Jolyne herself Fairouz explains in a 2022 (June 10) interview with Nico Nico, “I’m grateful enough just to be able to work as a voice actress, but even my dream of fighting alongside Jolyne and being by her side has come true. I didn’t get to be in the role of someone who helps her, but in a sense being Jolyne’s voice means I’m in the position closest to her.”

Fairouz explains that her parents opposed her pursuit of voice acting and so, after high school, she enrolled in a vocational school for graphic design and studied illustration.

Upon telling her parents that she wanted to go to a voice acting school after graduation her mother responded, “You’re only saying that because you don’t want to look for a job. If you get a proper job and work for a year, then use the money that you earn to pay for your own tuition, then I will approve.”

Fairouz worked as a dental assistant for a year after graduating from the school for graphic design and then enrolled in a voice acting school. Her debut was in 2019 as protagonist Hibiki Sakura in anime, “How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift?”

In 2020 she was awarded the Best New Actress Award at the 14th Seiyuu Awards ( source ), the same year that the Best Actor in a Leading Role Award was won by Riddle’s VA Hanae Natsuki.

Following the closing of her agency Pro-Fit she joined agency Raccoon Dog ( source ), founded by Floyd’s VA Okamoto Nobuhiko ( source ).

In 2025 was awarded the Foreign Film/Drama Award at the 19th Seiyuu Awards ( source ).

Fairouz left agency Raccoon Dog in 2025, transferring to Mausu Promotion ( source ).

Fairouz’s older brother Girard Kadota ( source ) is a member of Japan’s national ice-climbing team ( source ).

Since her debut Fairouz has contributed to over 100 anime, and 200 video games and has dubbed over 30 foreign movies and cartoons in addition to doing narration, voicing drama CDs and contributing to over 50 character song albums.
