Twst VA Interview: Silver’s VA Shimazaki Nobunaga

–What do you like about Diasomnia?
“The feeling of family. I think Diasomnia is like a family. That’s exactly why they have such a big influence on Silver’s growth.

From my point of view, it’s like a father, an older brother, and two youngest children of the same age.

Malleus is the older brother, Lilia is the father, and Sebek is in the same position as Silver. For Silver, Malleus-sama is, of course, the master he should serve, but he’s also like an older brother, not quite to the level of a father.

Because of that, in Main Story Chapter 7, Part 2, when Silver was able to cry that much and pour out his feelings, I think if the person there hadn’t been Malleus, who holds that older-brother position, it wouldn’t have turned out that way.

Having spent all that time together with Malleus, I think Silver knew that he could share with him his feelings toward his father, and the loneliness of his having to leave (school). That’s probably why his true feelings came out only in front of Malleus. Well…the ‘older brother’ who took in too much of those feelings ended up in quite a situation, though.

–What do you like about Twisted Wonderland?
As a voice actor, what I really like about Twisted Wonderland is that everyone connected to it clearly loves the project. Because of that love, I think aspects like how interesting the story is, the beauty of the illustrations, the wonderful music, and even the promotional activities really shine.

At the Twisted Wonderland Fes event I could feel that affection from the things the other voice cast members talked about. It really made me think, ‘What a truly happy project this is.’

–What left the biggest impression on you during the event?
In the dressing room, a Stitch plush popped out of Midorikawa-san’s (Lilia) bag. He told us, ‘Lately I’ve been constantly taking photos with him,’ and the dressing room itself overflowing with love is a great memory.

The seats were divided by dorm, so when all of us from the Diasomnia surrounded Stitch saying, ‘He’s so cute~!,’ Shoutan (Shouta Aoi-san), whose seat was next to ours because he’s from Ignihyde, joined in and got really excited with us.

Then, with Stitch sitting on Midorikawa-san’s shoulder, they took a photo together. At the time Shoutan had blue highlights in his hair, as if he had been inspired by Stitch, and I thought, ‘How perfect!’

Midorikawa-san had painted his nails for the first time in his life (for the event), inspired by Lilia. He said he had painted them at home the day before Twst Fes, but apparently he kept going around like, ‘I can’t do anything! The polish will smudge!! What should I do!!’ and had a tough time until they dried. It was really fun to hear everyone’s behind-the-scenes stories like that in the dressing room.

Shimazaki Nobunaga, B’s Log (2023)

In August 2026, the official Twisted Wonderland Twitter account published the following comments from Shimazaki on the character song/dorm song soundtrack and karaoke box implementation (source):

>> Memories from Recording Which song would you like to sing at karaoke?

>> Memories from Recording

With every song I can keenly feel the staff’s love and passion toward both the music and the characters. As we record we work through a great deal of trial and error together so that I can express Silver’s character through the songs and so that listeners can feel that “Silver-ness” as well.

>> What should fans pay attention to in the songs you participated in?

As a professional, I don’t think I could approach a song unless I’m singing it as the character. So above all else I place my focus on making it “Silver’s song.” Because of that, I’d be happy if listeners paid attention to the aspects that make it distinctly Silver.

>> Which song would you like to sing at karaoke?

If I had to choose I’d say “Shiitenpen” (恣意天変). The incredibly cool lyrics really spark my imagination.

>> A message for the fans, please.

I hope that not only through the game, but through the songs as well, you’ll be able to feel the lives of these characters and come to love them even more. Thank you very much for your continued support!
