Azul says that Jamil is “Demure and poised, you might say. He hardly ever ventures opinions of his own,” and while Jamil might not often share his opinions he certainly seems to have them, possibly having more internal dialogue than any other character in the game.
Jamil can be seen entertaining thoughts that he chooses not to share aloud during Beanfest, Vargas Camp, Fairy Gala, Firelit Sky, Halloween, and various vignettes, having private thoughts about Azul, Lilia, Leona, and more.
Jamil will also sometimes speak in small font, which Grim reveals he can hear during Book 7, so it is possibly meant to representing Jamil whispering to himself, which he does so during vignettes, events and the Main Story.
