Jamil shows an interest in movies in Book 6, suggesting that they watch movies from their private rooms at STYX, says he has always wanted to visit Port o’ Bliss and that “a movie as set there.”
Jamil joins the Tapis Rouge group out of an interest in the studio tour. Jamil explains that while Kalim’s family has three movie theaters he was “always running around making popcorn and hot dogs and all sorts of movie snacks,” so he hasn’t actually seen that many movies (“I’m too busy taking care of (Kalim)”), but the films made in the Fairest City left an impact on him.
When Ace says, “You’ve been hardly able to contain yourself while we’ve been here. You’re a huge movie fan, right?,” Jamil responds, “I wouldn’t go that far, but I do like them…Action, mainly. Especially ones that go all out.”
