Ace has a voice line of, “Jamil’s tsum lookalike keeps looking around at everyone and everything. It feels like being under surveillance,” while Jamil himself has a line of, “I’ll have to remain vigilant as usual today,” and Kalim tells him, “I doubt l’d notice anything that slipped past your watchful eye.”
At the start of Spectral Soiree Rook tells Crowley that he and Jamil “both feel (they) are considerably more sensitive than other people,” and when Silver is the only one to hear Lilia scream around the time that he was kidnapped, Silver says, “(Lilia) must’ve been fighting someone skilled enough to evade Jamil’s notice.”
During Firelit Sky Jamil notices that Cater only buys souvenirs for others rather than anything for himself. Cater silently reflects, “Jamil’s pretty sharp. He really notices things about other people.”
Jamil takes Cater to another shop, explaining, “I noticed your phone case is from a popular brand. And your bag’s the same brand as well, which says to me that you accept no substitutes when it comes to your stuff. So l figured you’d prefer something that’s more for locals than tourists.”
Cater responds, “You seriously noticed all that?”
During Book 5 Jamil proactively evacuates the coliseum before he can be instructed to do so despite not being on-site for Vil’s overblot, saying:
“Of course I had the place evacuated already. When I saw the look on Vil’s face after Neige’s rehearsal, I had a feeling something was brewing. And I also had a feeling SOMEONE would poke the hornets’ nest and set off a worst-case scenario.”
After it is revealed that Rook is a secret fan of Neige LaBlanche it is Jamil who makes the connection to the day they moved into Ramshackle for the VDC training camp, saying, “When you brought that heavy photo album with you to training camp…was that entire album nothing but official photos of Neige LeBlanche?!”
Despite how Leona is also particularly perceptive, it is Jamil who notices the difference between pre- and post-Tartarus Ortho, saying that he didn’t sense any spite from Ortho earlier on, but he seemed angry when Leona mocked him for being a robot: “That little surprise with the cages felt like he was getting back at you. He said and did things that were clearly spiteful. It was like how a real human would act.”
Towards the end of Book 7 it is Jamil who notices when only Grim and the prefect fail to evacuate from Diasomnia.
Jamil also notices Skully seeming “kind of forlorn” early on in the NBC event, after Skully’s ideas for Halloween are dismissed, and he also notices that Sally has “a certain someone” she wants to cook for based only on her questions about meals that others enjoy.
