When Jamil captures Kalim during Beanfest Kalim says, “I thought I was pretty fast. I guess you’re faster,” and Jamil responds, “You can chalk it up to a difference in training.”
During Book 6 Jamil says he has “actual training as a bodyguard,” and after hearing a story from Silver about special training that an unspecified hero underwent and Silver’s own determination to emulate them, Jamil says, “Maybe I could stand to train more myself…”
Jamil may have also been trained in survival methods: after detailing an outline on how he would approach being trapped on a deserted island Sebek says he is impressed, and, “You have a firm grasp of basic survival skills.”
Jamil has a ceremonial robes voice line of, “My parents have immersed me in this world since I was a child. I can breeze through any social occasion,” so it seems may have been another form of training that he has undergone.
