In an early vignette Jamil says that Riddle “a stern and uncompromising leader,” but also Riddle and Kalim are alike “in their ability to cause ceaseless stress.”
During the NBC event Riddle volunteers Jamil to join him in monitoring the behavior of others (“As the housewarden of Heartslabyul, I will teach them the concept of orderly conduct!”), and Jamil quietly responds, “Your motivation’s great and all, but please don’t treat my involvement as a given…” (Riddle: “What was that, Jamil? I didn’t quite hear.” – Jamil: “…Nothing.”)
After the NRC group is separated into teams Jamil reflects, “I can’t believe I landed on the same team as Azul… And worse, Riddle.” (Riddle: “How am I ‘worse’? I’d consider myself a dependable teammate.”)
Riddle is on a food prep team with Trey, Idia and Jamil during the event, and when Idia says “That leaves us as the useless ones” in reference to himself and Riddle, Riddle responds, “I’d appreciate if you didn’t lump me in with yourself, if it’s all the same.” Jamil comments, “Don’t worry. I’m not expecting anything out of either of you. I know that housewardens don’t do much in the way of hands-on work.”
In a vignette Jamil finds himself needing information about an experiment that Kalim did not do in order to do Kalim’s homework for him, coincidentally meeting with Floyd, who is in possession of Riddle’s notebook at the time. Despite knowing that the notebook was likely taken from Riddle against his will (which it was), Jamil takes it from Floyd for Kalim’s homework.
In a gymwear vignette Riddle agrees to do a sprint with Kalim on the condition that he is “not to say a word after (they’ve) finished,” and afterwards Jamil thanks Riddle for babysitting Kalim (Riddle: “Not at all. You deserve a break once in a while.”)
Despite the condition under which Riddle agreed to do the sprint Kalim then comments on how it is “nice to see even (Riddle) can’t come first in everything,” and, “Between you and Azul, I thought I was the only sophomore housewarden who wasn’t amazing at just about everything,” but then Jamil intervenes before he can say anymore, apologizing on Kalim’s behalf (“Will you watch your mouth?! I’m sorry, Riddle. Kalim meant nothing by that”).
Afterwards Jamil suggests they practice flying as they “have the perfect teacher right here,” asking if Riddle minds as they have a test coming up, and Riddle responds, “I see you share Cater’s total lack of reluctance to pester me for favors.”
After learning that Riddle is trapped in the library along with Kalim during the Lantern event Jamil responds, “If Riddle’s there, it should be safe for me to step away for a bit.”
During Book 6 Jamil says, “Riddle may be the top of our class, but he’s also a notorious live wire. There’s no stopping him once he’s set off.”
Riddle has a birthday voice line of, “I’m told that Kalim will be hosting a banquet for me. I’ll have to thank Jamil personally later.”
During the first NBC event a caterpillar is thrown onto Jamil’s forehead, but Jamil does not do well with bugs. Riddle removes it on Jamil’s behalf (“Honestly, though, have you no discipline? All of this over a little caterpillar…”) and Jamil says, “Thank you, Riddle, thank you! I owe you my life..!”
