In a 2013 “Style of the PRINCE” interview he explains that he was not named after famous historical figure Oda Nobunaga, but that his name was selected for him by a specialist hired by his great-grandmother to celebrate his birth.
In 2021 Shimazaki performed at Tokyo Disney Sea’s “Prince of Voice: Voice Stars Dream Live” alongside Malleus’ voice actor Kato Kazuki and Crewel’s voice actor Ito Kent, singing “Compass of Your Heart” from Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage.
Shimazaki won a “Best New Actor” award in 2013, followed by “Best Supporting Actor” in 2021.
His first-ever voice acting role was Herbert Nielsen in 2009’s Valkyrie Chronicles. He has since had roles in over 200 anime, 130 video games and 80 drama CDS, including:
