Jamil and Epel

It is Jamil who captures Epel during Beanfest, and Jamil has a Halloween voice line of, “I came up behind Epel and tapped him on the shoulder, and he jumped with fright…was I trying to scare him, you ask? Not at all. Honest.”

During the Little-Big Adventure event, Jamil protects Epel from Lucius.

Jamil and Epel overlap during the Halloween party of Spectral Soiree when Epel bumps into him while dancing and claims that he doesn’t “see the appeal of these highfalutin dances.”

Jamil reflects, “Most of the others look perfectly happy, but | guess not everybody’s enjoying the party,” and offers to teach Epel how to waltz, resulting in Epel admitting that he is actually jealous of how much fun the other students are having.

Jamil praises Epel for being a quick learner (“We haven’t even been dancing for 10 minutes. You’ve got a real knack for this”), and when Epel expresses frustration with dancing slowly and when Jamil explains that there are more advanced waltz steps, Epel asks to be taught how to do them (Jamil: “*sigh* All right, sure. It’s hard to explain without demonstrating, so we’ll go through the motions as I talk”).

Jamil narrates as they perform a running spin turn, side cross, and triple spin together, and compliments Epel on his skills. Epel says that Jamil’s dancing has inspired the other students but Jamil says it must have been Epel, “and all the fun (he) was having.”

Epel insists that it was all thanks to Jamil being “a great lead,” and Jamil counters with, “You’re giving me far too much credit,” telling Epel, “I’m glad your Halloween didn’t end on a sour note,” and, “Enjoy the rest of the night.”
