Jamil has a voice line of, “I’m ‘supportive?’ That’s…to be expected of a vice housewarden, I should think. It’s hardly praiseworthy,” but he suggests that he will be a better companion for Vil in the Fairest City than Azul, as, “He’ll be much better off with someone supportive and considerate…like me.”
Vil has a voice line of, “If you’re going shopping, I’d take Jamil with you. He’s very proactive about carrying bags and parcels,” and we see Jamil do just that during the Firelit Sky event, holding Malleus’ bags and waiting outside while Malleus shops.
Jamil is the Firelit Sky group’s main support, arranging for their transportation, fetching them drinks, and ordering their food.
Jamil also dries Grim off after he falls into a canal, provides Najma with a wet wipe for before she eats, and when he sees Kalim trying to arrange for a parade without any preparation he intervenes, providing support via animal linguistics.
Jamil comments on “barely” winning a takoage battle during New Year’s but Malleus responds, “I was certain from the start that with you on my side, victory was assured,” revealing that is was actually Jamil who secured their victory against Heartslabyul: “While the rest of you were distracted by my maneuvering, Viper’s tako was the one to get in close and sever your strings…A monarch must reward those who offer their ruler such dedicated service.”
Riddle reflects, “So first Malleus entrapped us with distracting motions, then Jamil calmly dispatched us…that was a complete defeat.”
Kalim says “Jamil can solve any problem just like that!” Jamil says, “I’d rather there be no problems at all,” and there are similar exchanges during Glorious Masquerade when Deuce says, “Any festival or ball would be a blast with you around! It wouldn’t matter what emergency came up,” and Jamil responds, “I’d prefer for there to be no emergencies at all,” and during Vargas Camp when Floyd says that he hopes they will be able to fight a large fairy and Jamil replies, “I’ll be hoping for the exact opposite, thanks.”
