    Whereas Jamil is Kalim’s personal servant, Jamil’s parents are house servants for Kalim’s family.

    Jamil often references friends (or “a friend,” singular) from middle school.
  • Jamil and Firelit Sky
    Grim invites himself along to the Yasamina River Fireworks Festival in the Firelit Sky event, despite Jamil doing “whatever it takes to talk them out of it.”
  • Dancing, Fairy Gala and Honorifics – Video
    Kalim says that Jamil has loved dancing since they were young, but Jamil says that he was forced to go along whenever Kalim wanted to dance as a child.

    Azul describes Jamil as demure, poised and someone who hardly ever ventures opinions of his own.
  • Jamil, Beanfest and Appearance
    Jamil has two storylines during Beanfest.
    Jamil says that he has some hair accessories that he’s received as gifts but for the most part he has picked them out himself.

    Jamil has been Kalim’s servant since he himself was still a young boy.

    Kalim challenges an over-blotted Jamil to combat, saying, “I’ll win back the housewarden seat you’ve stolen from me,” to which Jamil responds, “How dare you. YOU’RE the one who stole everything from ME!”

    We learn from Jade that “hypnosis magic that takes control of a target’s mind” like Jamil’s requires a far higher degree of skill and magical power than taking control of a target’s body, and that very few people are capable of using it.
    Jamil is forced into escorting Sebek back to campus when Sebek insists he cannot return on his own and Kalim threatens to escort him himself if Jamil refuses to go.

    For all his impatience with the majority of NRC’s other students, Jamil seems unusually fond of Cater.

    Jamil is possibly the first character to use his unique magic on the prefect, hypnotizing them twice in Book 4.
    Silver and Jamil’s overlap during Spectral Soiree begins with Jamil attacking and gleefully stealing mirror fragments from the ghosts despite Silver’s efforts to handle the situation peacefully.

    In Jamil’s overblot scene he verbally attacks Kalim for being oblivious, gullible, foolish, ignorant and blind to his suffering, saying, “You have no idea how many days I’ve spent wishing that you would just go away.”

    Jamil actively trying to not draw attention to himself is a running theme.
  • Jamil and Effort (pt2)
    After his overblot Jamil insists that he will not be holding back anymore and Kalim responds, “But I won’t lose, either!” Kalim then loses to Jamil in Book 5.
  • Jamil and Cooking – Video
    Jamil says that he doesn’t find cooking engaging and that, while he does personally cook all of Kalim’s meals, he is not Kalim’s personal chef; “Things just worked out this way.”
  • Jamil, Stealing, Hometown, Ruggie
    In Firelit Sky we learn that child Jamil would steal food from the vendors in the markets at his hometown.
  • Jamil in the English-Language Adaptation – Video
    During Firelit Sky we learn that Jamil, much like Idia, does not like tradition and customs.
    He was rewritten on EN into a character that prioritizes his history and chooses to uphold tradition.

    Leona and Jamil overlap in a vignette where Jamil judges Leona by his appearance to be “one of those indolent, haughty royals.”

    During Book 6 Jamil gets injured in his unnecessary efforts to protect Leona and Leona loses his patience.

    Jamil comes to understand Leona’s sense of humor.
  • Jamil in the Main Story (pt1)
    Jamil appears briefly in Book 2 as one of the Spelldrive players who was injured by Ruggie.

    During Book 4 Jade deduces that Kalim is being magically mind-controlled and Azul proceeds to take over Jamil’s duties of waiting upon Kalim, with Kalim’s encouragement.
  • Jamil in the Main Story (pt3)
    Jamil is initially deceived by the STYX simulator, but after Leona points out what is happening he catches on quickly.
  • Jamil, Worrying, Flattery and Deuce – Video
    Kalim is often commenting that Jamil is a “worrier,” saying that he should take life a little easier.
    Much like Vil, Riddle also calls Jamil out on his patronizing flattery.
    Jamil is one of very few characters who has ever seen Deuce in delinquent mode.
  • Jamil, Suspicion, Bugs and More
    Jamil is one of several students who seems suspicious of Crowley, but he is possibly the only person thus far who has admitted to being suspicious of the Dark Mirror itself.
    Jamil has hated bugs ever since he was a child and found one in handful of dates he was eating.
    Curry is Jamil’s favorite food, despite how he once—as Kalim’s food tester—was “bedridden for days on end” after eating poisoned curry that had been meant for Kalim.
