Riddle, Receiving Praise

Riddle tells Floyd, “Save (his) backhanded compliments” during the Stitch event, but after Floyd assures him that he was being sincere, Riddle seems very please: “You were being serious? Heh heh… Heh heh heh! Well, what else can you expect but brilliance from the housewarden of a dorm that honors the Queen of Hearts?” (Jack: “Someone’s happy…”)

When Jade says Riddle’s “bold and intriguing gambit” during Spectral Soiree is “very like (him)” Riddle responds, “Isn’t it though?,” and he seems pleased to be similarly complimented by Ruggie.

When the group plays Beach Flags during the Stitch event and Riddle manages to get a flag he goes to Ace, saying, “I did it! I won! Did you see that, Ace?!,” as though hoping for praise.

When Trey and Cater praise Riddle for his efforts of Book 7 he is shocked (“Why are you patting my head as well? I’m the housewarden!”), but they explain he is still an underclassman, only a month older than Ace.

Riddle insists that he did nothing worthy of praise (“I was far from full marks”) but Deuce and Cater assure him that he did, with Trey saying that he will bake them all a cake to celebrate. When Riddle goes quiet Cater says, “Don’t tell me someone’s embarrassed!,” and Riddle threatens to behead them if the conversation goes on any longer.
